INTRODUCTION

Good day amazing steemians. My name is Patience Otis and am glad am doing my achievement 3. I did my achievement2 on security I really enjoyed the topic.

The topic PLAGIARISM is something I got to understand on steemit. I've heard and learnt about plagiarism before but, I got to understand it fully on steemit. Am really happy that I will be sharing my knowledge about plagiarism today.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism is duplicating or copying someone else's work without proper referencing or citing the author. Using an author's work without quoting that person is wrong. It's also called ACADEMIC THEFT.
Academic theft to my own knowledge is using someone else's knowledge, ideas (work) and making it yours.

PLAGIARISM ON STEEMIT

Steemit is block chain that actually teaches/ educate their users on plagiarism. This is a very good idea because this way, their users can become academically independent.

Plagiarism on steemit can lead to some things negatively. Some of this effect are

1: plagiarism on steemit can lead to restrictions from some activities like contests here on steemit. The is that your is not original, it's copied and that's what steemit is against.

2: This can lead to your not getting any votes (downvote). Plagiarism is seen as academic theft and for steemit to vote any post that has plagiarism, it's shows that steemit is going against what they stand for.

3: Plagiarism on steemit can lead to lost of post value. Your won't be seen as original. This can also lead to you having a bad reputation on steemit.

4: If your a person that always copy other people work it will be hard for people to learn from you on steemit. Making original post can encourage other users to make use of their own ideas and imaginations.

HOW TO AVIOD PLAGIARISM

Well most times you need to make rearch on things and you have to use an author's work. The common and easiest way to avoid plagiarism is and academic theft is citation and referencing.

CITATION simply means acknowledging and giving proper information about where you got answers or content from. This way people will get to know where you got your content from. They can use it for their own research.

FOR EXAMPLE you use > at the beginning of the statement

the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own

Still speaking on how to avoid plagiarism. Most people commit plagiarism on their post without even knowing it. This act is called ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM and this is something you can always avoid.

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM: You might be surprised seeing this as a subtitle. Yes you can accidentally steal someone else's idea without even knowing it. Sometimes we humans think alike and might have the same ideas on somethings.

WHY SHOULD YOU STOP PLAGIARISM

1 The reason stop or avoid plagiarism is very important. Because I believe this way you will be able to put your ideas out there for the world to see.

2 Boost of confidence. Most times why people plagiarised is lost of self confidence in their work, ideas and contents. You can boost your confidence by posting original contents.

3 It makes people respect your intellectual capacity, your creative insite and your productivity level.

4 this way people get to see your abilities and true pontentals .

5 why you should stop Plagiarism is that you are letting the world know you better by sharing your own, craft and idealogies with them.

CONCLUSION

What arfirms that you believe in yourself, your work is that despite the unbelieve, the doubt of your own capacity you are still able to use your own words not another person work. This will give you all the confidence you need to become better.

I got to learn from a steemit about Plagiarism. She's not aware of it though it was a personal knowledge. I learnt from @ngoenyi the importance of quality and original post here on steemit.
