ACHIEVEMENT 4 || TASK: APPLYING MARKDOWN || BY @onyiluvdan
Am pleased to be back again for the continuation of my achievement task post and also glad to have your attention to this post. The last achievement post was on Content Etiquette which deals mainly with Plagiarism and has been verified thereby allowing me to proceed to achievement 4 which is on Application of Markdown.
Markdowns are applicable commands that can be applied to a writeup, article, or post to have it look neat, presentable, and unique. Without these markdowns, writeups and posts would appear unorganized, unaligned hence unpresentable.
Now, let's consider some of the applicable markdowns on this platform before going to know how they can be applied. Below are some of the most commonly used markdowns:
Text Justification
Subscript and Superscript
Centralisation
Text Bolding
Italicising text
Left and Right Alignment
Block quotes
Justification of Text
This is used to align text in block form. When this markdown is applied, the text is aligned equally from the left indent to the right indent. To apply this markdown;
< div class="text-justify"> (leaving space only between div and class) is written before the text and < /div> (leaving no space) after the text
Subscript and Superscript
Texts can be subscripted or superscripted. To subscript, a text, < sub > is written before the text (leaving no space) and < / sub > is written after the text (leaving no space). I will be applying this on '2' in C2O;
C2O
The same applies to superscription but in this case, we use 'sup'
For example, I will be applying superscription on '2' in a2 = b2 + c2;
a2 = b2 + c2
Centralisation
Thus is the act of centralizing a text or aligning a text at the center. It is done by writing < center > before the text (leaving no space) and < /center > after the text (leaving no space). I will be applying it on 'Pythagoras Theorem'
Text Bolding
This involves making a text bold and it is done by adding two asterisks before and after the text without leaving any space. I will apply this on 'Quadratic Equation';
Quadratic Equation
Italicising text
This markdown is applied to texts to make them appear in Italics and is done simply by putting asterisks before and after the text without leaving a space. For example, I will apply it to 'Geometry';
Geometry
Left and Right Alignment
The left and right alignment are applied on texts to make them run parallel on both the right and left sides. For applying the right alignment, you write < div class="pull-right" > above the text giving a line space before the text (leaving space only between div and class) then < /div > just below the text (leaving no space). The same applies to the left alignment but in this case, it is "pull-left". Now let us try this on;
'This involves making a text bold and it is done by adding two asterisks before and after the text without leaving any space.' (left) and 'This markdown is applied to texts to make appear in Italics and is done simply by putting and asterisks before and after the text without leaving a space.' (right)
'This involves making a text bold and it is done by adding two asterisks before and after the text without leaving any space.'
'This markdown is applied to texts to make it appear in Italics and is done by putting and asterisks before and after the text without a space.'
Block quotes
The blockquote is used to make a text appear in a blockquote form and this is done by putting > and leaving a space before the text
For example, I will apply it on 'Blockquote is used to make a text appear in a blockquote form and this is done by putting > and leaving a space before the text.'
Blockquote is used to make a text appear in a blockquote form and this is done by putting > and leaving a space before the text.
Also, when three asterisks ars put before and after a text leaving no space, the text appears in the bold and Italic form. For example, if I apply it to 'Algebraic Expression', it will appear thus;
Algebraic Expression
Conclusion
As long as writing is concerned in the steemit platform, markdowns are very important as they are applied to make an article organized and presentable, giving a reader apparent comprehension of the work presented.
Special thanks to @xkool24 and @hisgeneral for their assistance on this platform, am grateful.
Nice user experience in handling markdown tools but that would be best used if uded in a simple post.
