Hi everyone, I am very pleased to come our way again and I hope we are doing quite well.
I have successfully completed my achievement 1 and 2 and they have been verified. I hope to make improvements as I continue with this activity of article writing.

Achievement 3 deals with Content Etiquette (Plagiarism)

Etiquette

Etiquette refers is a generally accepted rule that controls the social attitude, manner, or conduct of a person or group of people of a definite geographical region. It is a formal or conventional way people ought to act towards others and implies polite mannerisms towards other individuals.

Plagiarism

This is an act of presenting another person's work of art as though it were your own. It can be the sharing or using another person's notions or impressions without proper citation or reference.

It is an offense to intentionally or accidentally use another person's work of art, intelligence, or idea without proper recognition of the originator of such work. Making use of other people's ideas, art, or intelligence isn't the crime as they are part of exposition to learning but the crime is in not recognizing the original owner of the idea and that's considered plagiarism.

Kinds of Plagiarism

There are various categories of Plagiarism and the following are a few numbers of them:

  • Direct plagiarism
  • Indirect plagiarism
  • Personal plagiarism

Direct Plagiarism

This is the act of copying another person's work and pasting it as your work. In this kind of plagiarism, there is no quote or citation of the original author or source from which the copying was made.

Indirect Plagiarism

This form of plagiarism involves the copying of different works from different sources and presenting them as though they were one's work without stating the source of the copied work. Indirect plagiarism involves the rearrangement of copied work such that it appears new and original.

Personal Plagiarism

When an author presents or reuses an old work in the present as though it is newly produced, it is considered plagiarism. This is because the author hasn't undergone new research but rather copies an old work to present for recent work, though it is his/hers. This is also referred to as self-plagiarism.

Consequences of Plagiarism

No offense or unlawful, illegitimate attitude or action is without consequences however, in the case of plagiarism, it varies from the jurisdiction where it was committed and the person against whom it was committed. Meanwhile, below are a list of some common consequences of plagiarism:

  • Ruin of reputation
  • Fine
