Achievement 6 Task by @okoyeclinton: Curation and Community

Hello Steemins,

This is my achievement 6 task and I am happy to share knowledge on Steem Curation and Community. First I would like to thank @cryptokannon for the guidance. Thanks to @justyy for the developments and guide. And I like to thank @cryptokannon the #nigeria representative for the support through this steemit journey.

Here is my understanding about curation and community.

How Curation Work In Steem

It is the process of voting by the content curators (authors). They are the people who who vote on steemit in various communities. They also give 50 percent of content payout.

What Witness Is And How To Vote For Witness

They are the network block producers and government. They are also like security on steemit. The protect the steemit website from fruadsters and scummers. There are about 20 full time witnesses that produces block and they are mostly compensate them by the steemit owners with steem power for each site they create.

How to vote for witness

You go to FAQ on your page.
You go to steem witness on FAQ area.
You come to how to vote for steem witness. Then you click on https://steemit.com//~witnesses.
Then you vote for the witnesses on the page.

Here is my understanding about curation and community.

1. Do you understand how voting and curation work in Steemit?
   It's very simple. You can upvote anyone all you need to do just one click and it's done. There are two buttons (green for upvote and red for downvote). You can upvote based on good content it will not cost your steem.

Curation rewards can be earned from upvoting posts and comments. The rewards are allocated 50% of the payout goes to the author of the post/comment, and the remaining 50% goes to the curator as per the default setting.

1. What happened if you vote a post before 5 minutes mark after posting?
   When you publish a post, 100% of the curation reward will remain in the rewards pool. But initial It varies from 0- 5 minutes. For example, if someone vote after 3 minutes then it'll break into 60% and 40%, curator Rewards, and reward pool respectively.

2. Who will you vote for Steem Witness ? and Why?
   Witnesses are generally selected by the steem community to create blocks for the steemit blockchain. I have already voted to @steemchiller who has made https://steemworld.org , @futureshock who has made https://steemscan.com and @justyy for https://steemyy.com . These tools are very useful.

How To Join The Existing Community

We joined a community by going to the community on your profile. Click on the community on your profile. And you explore a list of communities, you select the community you want to join. Then you click on subscribe to join the the community.

How To Use Third Party Application
They are communication tool for the steemain and how to ask and know things about steemit.
And they also help a steemain to build connections. And it's used for post promotions.
