DEFINING PLAGIARISM:
Plagiarism is an act of stealing or copying someone's original ideas or work in place of your own.. It is also the process by which someone's original content is been copied or used with his/her consent nor permission.
According to Merriam - Webster Online Dictionary, Plagiarism means
To steal and pass of (the ideas or words of another) as one's own
To use (another production) without crediting the source
To commit literary theft
To present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.
TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is not always an act of black and white problem, and it boundary between research and plagiarism is always not cleared.
Here are the various types of plagiarism
1. COMPLETE PLAGIARISM
2. SELF PLAGIARISM
3. DIRECT PLAGIARISM
4. TEXT PLAGIARISM
5. MOSAIC PLAGIARISM
COMPLETE PLAGIARISM:
Is refers to act whereby a writers copy others concepts and ideas, to achieve a reward. So, it is always sees as a form of plagiarism.
SELF PLAGIARISM:
It is seen as the act of sorting in which the authors recopy his/her original work or content once more.
DIRECT PLAGIARISM:
It's said to be a copy and paste of another authors work or content and present it in another form in place of theirs. It is a kind of act called direct plagiarism, and it is directly refers to be detected in different plagiarism checkers.
TEXT PLAGIARISM:
This is a form of plagiarism that is said to be an act of repeating of sentence of statement created by another author, and not the information of the authors. It can also be a typically plagiarism act, by requesting copy-rights holders, not a fraud or stealing liability.
MOSAIC PLAGIARISM:
It refers to an act of re-arranging another author’s sentence or articles and present it as their original work or article. It is form of plagiarism which is called Mosaic plagiarism. And it is always common in local bloggers, students and article writers.
HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM:
To plagiarism, we should maintain moral writings in learning activities, and also supplies should be known to be accurate.
- Check your work using plagiarism checker before submitting your work.
- Cites the sources where you carry-out your research.
- Cites the Original authors in your work and reference list.
EXAMPLE OF CITATION:
Read and understand the author’s article for using it in-place of your own. And include the source where you carry out the research source
