Achievement2 :Basic security in Steemit by @nafisatu

Greeting beautiful people in the Steemit platform.
Am called Nafisatu and I’ve been in the Steemit platform for close to 2months. During this period of time I have understood what security means and the importance of keeping my keys safe
As a reminder ;
The first rule of Steemit is: Do not lose your password.
The second rule of Steemit is: Do not lose your password.
The third rule of Steemit is: We cannot recover your password.
The fourth rule: If you can remember the password, it's not secure.
The fifth rule: Use only randomly-generated passwords.
The sixth rule: Do not tell anyone your password.
The seventh rule: Always back up your password.

As per dictionary definition ,Security is the state of being free from danger or threat.
While security in this context talks about keeping our account safe from hackers and any other detractors.
Now I’ll answer the following questions;

HAVE YOU RETRIEVED ALL YOUR KEYS?

I have retrieved all my keys on steemit ,the keys came as a pdf file. I have understood that without the keys, I would not have access to my account and I won’t be able to perform any task here on Steemit. So I do everything possible to make sure that all my keys are safe and kept in a well protected area where I alone can have access to them.
The keys which I have retrieved include;
•TRON Private key
•TRON Public key
•Private posting key
•Private active key
•Private owner key
•Private memo key and
•Master key

DO YOU KNOW EACH OF THE KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESTRICTIONS?

Yes I do know how each of these keys function and also their restrictions.

•TRON Private key....
This private key has the highest authority on your TRON account. It is used for signing transactions concerning TRON, such as transferring tokens,freezing and voting

•Private Posting Key....
This key is used to log into apps such as Steemit.com and perform social actions such as posting ,commenting and voting.

•Private Active Key
The private Active key is used for monetary and wallet related transactions which include transferring tokens or powering up STEEM and also powering down.
(powering up:converting SBD to Steem and powering down: converting Steem to SBD)

•Private Owner Key
This key is used to reset all your other keys. It is recommended to keep it offline at all times. If your account is compromised, you can use this key to recover it within 30 days at https://steemitwallet.com

•Private Memo Key
Used to decrypt private transfer memos.

•Master Key
The master password used to generate this document.
Never share any of these keys.

HOW DO YOU PLAN TO KEEP YOUR MASTER KEY?

I understand what it means to keep a password safe and I also know the importance of doing this.
I plan also on keeping my keys safe both online and offline. I have saved my keys on my laptop ,my USB flash ,clouds and I plan to print it out on paper. In case I loss my keys saved online or as soft copy, I can still use the keys which I will print out.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR STEEM TOKEN TO ANOTHER STEEM USER ACCOUNT?

Yes I do. Thanks to @nackasnelson ,He was the one who introduced me to the platform ,he has explained to me how transfer is done on the platform and also thanks to @majerius who helped me out during the course of my first transfer of tokens. While doing this I took screenshots to ask him if I was doing the right thing and it came out successful ✅ . When i log into my wallet, where I find steem , there’s a drop down arrow. I click on the arrow and then I see a series of options ,I select transfer ,A box will appear to input the account name of the user to whom I want to do the transfer to, the amount of steem and a public memo(reason for transfer) I take next ,then finally input my active key to confirm the transaction.

Click on drop down arrow by Steem ,the click transfer

Enter amount you want to transfer ,if it’s Steem

Then its this for SBD

Click next.

Take ok.

Finally click on Sign in to complete the transaction.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO POWER UP YOUR STEEM?

Yes I do know how to power up my Steem. During the short time I’ve been into steemit I came to understand that having more Steem power ,grants me the ability to give a high powering vote when voting on a post. Powering up builds my steem power.

PROCEDURE
In my wallet where steem is written ,there is an arrow pointing downwards(a drop down arrow) I clicked on it and select power up to convert my Steem’s to steem power. Enter the amount of steem or just simply clicking on balance if I want to convert all the available steem in to steem power and then I finally clicked on power up and it’s done.

Click on the drop down arrow as shown above then click on power up.

Take Power up

Sign in to complete transaction.
