Hello steemians, trust that you are all doing well? I'm honored to present to you my next achievement task, in which we will be discussing about "CONTENT ETIQUETTE". Originality is a feature or characteristics that is highly appreciated in all aspects of life, especially in ones personality and work life. We'll also be discussing about plagiarism and the various types of plagiarism and how it suloorts individual thinking. Without wasting much time, let's dive right in.

Etiquette can be seen as formal rules and manners that are considered as acceptable in the society. Etiquette can also be defined as behaviors that are acceptable by the society as well. It is the etiquette that draws a different line between people with good manners and people who behave irresponsibly everywhere.

Plagiarism simply means reusing or copying someone else's work without proper credit or citation where necessary.when someone uses the work of another artist without properly citing the source or giving credit, then that will be an instance of plagiarism. Plagiarism is a punishable offense, and it is a form of intellectual theft.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

There are different types of plagiarism and we'll be taking a look at each if them. They are:
.Direct Plagiarism
.Mosaic Plagiarism
.Accidental plagiarism
.Self-plagiarism
.Paraphrasing plagiarism

DIRECT PLAGIARISM

Direct plagiarism is an intentional and unethical form of stealing content. As the name suggests, the writing is stolen word for word and pasted into the new piece. The author then tries to pass off the content as their own.

MOSAIC PLAGIARISM

In this type of plagiarism, the work of the original author is simply paraphrased without proper citation. It’s often difficult to detect because the plagiarized material is mixed with many different sources, including the writer’s own ideas and perspective.

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism doesn’t always happen on purpose. It’s still considered plagiarism when someone copies another’s writing without citing their source, improperly cites the source or leaves out quotation marks on accident.

SELF PLAGIARISM

Self plagiarism happens when you copy your own writing, whether intentional or not. Often the person in a self-plagiarism incident is summarizing their own work instead of writing a whole new piece from scratch on the same topic.

PARAPHRASING PLAGIARISM

Paraphrasing plagiarism is the most common type of plagiarism. It’s similar to the mosaic plagiarism mentioned above. However, the difference is that the copied work isn’t mixed in with new concepts and research.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
Here are some few steps in which one could avoid plagiarism

1. Cite your source: When copying an article that’s not your own, add a citation in your writing that identifies the full name of the source, the date it was published, and any other citation element that’s required by the style guide you’re adhering to.

2. Include quotations: One of the most simple ways to avoid plagiarism is by using quotation marks around the text to indicate that the words aren’t your own. A direct quote should also cite the source so that readers know who the quote is from.

3. Present your own idea: Instead of copying the source’s ideas or words, explore what you have to say about it. Ask yourself what unique perspective or point you can contribute in your writing that’s entirely your own.

4. Use a plagiarism checker: While conducting your research on a topic, some phrases or sentences might stick with you so well that you include them in your writing without a citation. When in doubt, using an online plagiarism checking tool can help you catch these issues before submitting your work.

CONCLUSION

Plagiarism is an act which is unethical and punishable by law. Instead of imitating another persons work, it is best we come up with our own individual ideas and thus improves creativity. I hope this article was educative and helpful to all. I have read and understand the steemit equittet that governs the steemit community and promise to abide by it. Thank you very much.
