INTRODUCTION

Good day to you all. Hope you guys are doing well? For my Achievement 2, I'll be discussing on the basic security on STEEMIT. We'll be talking about the basic security keys on STEEMIT, Thier functions and how to keep them safe. We'll also be discussing how to send STEEM TOKEN to other users and how to power up.

STEEMIT KEYS.

Upon creation of account, Steem has five different keys or passwords. Four of these are used with typical accounts and the fifth is used by witnesses. They are: owner, active, posting, memo, and signing keys. Each has its own set of functions and limits.

OWNER KEY

The owner key gives full control over your Steem account. Its user is able to post, vote, transfer funds, vote for witnesses, and change all keys including being able to change the owner key.

ACTIVE KEY
The active key can perform almost all operations on STEEMIT. The active key allows transferring, trading, powering up/powering down Steem Power, and voting

POSTING KEY

The posting key allows accounts to post, comment, vote, and follow other accounts. This is what most users should be logging in to Steemit with every day, only using the active key when something to do with transferring funds or changing keys is necessary.

MEMO KEY

The memo key is the only key that can decrypt private messages sent to your account.

SIGNING KEY

The signing key can be used by witnesses to sign blocks. It's set with the update_witness transaction signed using an active or owner key.

HOW I SAVED MY STEEMIT KEYS.

After downloading the PDF containing my STEEMIT KEYS, I made a copy of it and saved it on other hardware devices. I also backed my keys up on Google drive knowing it'll be safer there.

HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR STEEM TOKEN TO ANOTHER STEEM USER ACCOUNT

I'll be explaining how one user can transfer STEEM TOKEN to another user.

STEP ONE: Clicking on your profile image and selecting wallet (underlined by the grey line).

STEP TWO: By clicking on STEEM DOLLAR which will provide a list of options in which you'll select transfer.

STEP THREE: By imputing the name of the user in which you want to send STEEM TOKEN to. You'll be required to provide a key to confirm transaction.

HOW TO POWER UP YOUR STEEM

Same step goes for powering up as well. For better understanding, I'll also be providing images as well for this.

STEP ONE: By selecting the STEEM option(Underlined bt the grey line) a list if options will appear.

STEP TWO: Our of the options available, select power up.

STEP THREE: Input the amount of STEEM you want to power up.

CONCLUSION
It's very important for us to keep in mind that these security keys are not to be tempered with. That being said, keeping our keys safe should be paramount to us.
