REVIEW STEEMSCAN.COM

1. Please explain the current Steem price and volumes on date of submission of this review?

Steemscan is one of the popular tools built on Steem blockchain which is used for viewing history of transactions, exchange steem for other cryptocurrencies, vote witness and etc.

Now, to see the steem price and volume, visit steemscan.com. Upon entering the name of the website, the homepage of the website will display right in your front. See the screenshot below.

2. Please explain What all information is shown under latest transactions and latest blocks section?

To see latest transaction and blocks, scroll down the homepage. Let's see the screenshot below.

iMarkup_20210901_093153.jpg
Fig. 3: Latest Transaction and block Section

The fig. 3 above shows the latest transaction and blocks on the steemscan. As it can be seen, the information under this section are:

  • Block ID
  • ID
  • Timestamp
  • Sender
  • Receiver
  • Type
  • Amount/%/Payload

Block ID is the height of the block. It's important to know that many ID (which is unique Identity for every user) may share the same block ID. This means that there is more than one transaction that makes a block.

Timestamp is the time when the transaction takes place. The person who initiates transaction is the sender and he whom the transaction is directed to is the receiver.

The typeshows the category of transaction which is performed. As it can be seen in figure 3 above, we have vote and transfer under the type at the particular time. Amount/%/payload shows the amount of money sent or percentage with which a person use to vote.

3. Please explain What all information is shown under Witnesses section and steps to vote a Witness?

To see witness feature or section, click on the menu icon at the top left side of the homepage.

Fig. 4: Steemscan Features

Fig 4 above shows different features which Steemscan has. These features are very important. As it can be seen, it shows home, witnesses, DApps, Dev tools, Quick convert, search, and steem engine.

Before I conclude this write-up, I'm going to explore, witnesses, DApps, Quick Convert and Search section.

  • Rank
  • Witness
  • Approval
  • Status
  • Version
  • Missed
  • Price feed
  • Reg fee
  • Vote

Step to Vote a Witness

Let's quickly see steps to vote a witness. Click on the vote of of the witness you want to vote. See the screenshot below.

4. Please explain What is DApps and mention 3 DApps which you have already used or may use in future as per your interest

The word DApps means Decentralised Applications. Decentralized applications are applications which are built on digital ledger, blockchain. These applications are not control by central system since they are built on blockchain. Examples of DApps include IDEX DApp, ForkDelta, Steemcan, Bancor DApp etc.

Interestingly, there's a section for DApps on Steemcan. Let's see this very quickly.

Click on DApps boxed with blue rectangle in figure 5 above. Upon clicking on it, a list of different DApps will be shown. See the screenshot below.

iMarkup_20210901_095449.jpg
Fig. 12 : DApps Section

Three DApps I have used

I have used these DApps

  1. Steemscan
  2. Steemworld
  3. Uniswapp

5. Please explain How to use "Quick Convert" and what is the fee charged for different Steem amount for withdrawal?

In fig. 5 above, click on quick convert boxed with black rectangle. Upon clicking on it, a page will be displayed. See the screenshot below.

iMarkup_20210901_095946.jpg
Fig. 13 : Quick Convert Section

Now, I fig. 13 above, we can see that the page has loaded showing some information.

  • First, when you want to convert your earned steem to other cryptocurrency, you need to enter the amount of steem you want to convert. In the image, you can see 20steem I the amount.

  • The second step is to choose the cryptocurrency you want to convert your steem to. There are three cryptocurrencies listed which you can convert steem to. You can convert it to USDT, BTC and TRX.

  • The next thing is to enter the withdrawal address. Make sure you enter the right address.

  • Then, after entering withdrawal address, the next thing to do is to click on create Order.

It's important to know that, transaction fee will be deducted when converting steem to other cryptocurrency. As seen in figure 13 above, the transaction fee on 20 steem is 1.11401214 USDT

Now, let's try to convert an amount of steem greater than 20 steem to see if the transaction fee will change. I will write 100 steem in the "amount of steem." Let's see the screenshot below.

iMarkup_20210901_100348.jpg
Fig. 14 : Quick Convert Section (Trying to Convert 100steem)

I have put 100 steem in the "steem amount" as seen in figure 14 above. It can be seen that the transactions fee doesn't really change. Which means, the same amount is charged for any amount of steem you want to convert.

6. Please explain what information is provided by the "Search" feature?

To see information under search feature, click on "search" boxed with yellow rectangle in figure 5 above. Upon clicking on this, a page will be loaded in your front display all information under this section. See the screenshot below.

iMarkup_20210901_100610.jpg
Fig. 15: Search Section

The information under this is **search type, transaction ID, and additional parameters **

You can use search type to search for transaction, block and account.

iMarkup_20210901_100742.jpg
Fig. 16: Search Section (Search Type)

You can also use additional search parameters to filter your search.

Conclusion

Steemscan is one the most important tools built on steem blockchain to view activities such as transactions, blocks, to votes and perform other things. I have been able to explore this tool and found it very useful.
