Achievement 2 @mabuzar39 : Basic Security in Steem

in Newcomers' Community3 years ago (edited)

Well, the time has come to make my achievement two to continue learning more about steemit, in this achievement I will reveal the different functions of the keys, their importance and how to make transfers and the Power Up process. say I start my achievement 2.

Thank you @cryptokannon

(Q). Recommendations for safely storing passwords?

The passwords are obtained when creating a steemit account in the form of a pdf document, it is best to save the passwords as quickly as possible in a safe place, preferably a place that does not connect to the internet or in a physical document.

(Q). Functions and importance of the different passwords?

Each password has its own function and therefore they have a different importance, their functions are:

1 Posting key: It is the simplest password of all, but that does not mean that it is not important, this key is used to post, comment, follow people, silence people, etc.

2 Activation Key: This key is used to make transfers, the Power Up / Down process, trade Steems or SBD and or use the Market.

3 Owner key : This password is used to change any other password, except the master password, it is recommended to use it only when it is very necessary to prevent it from being stolen.

4 Memo Key: This key is used to encrypt and decrypt memos when transferring funds.

5 Master Key: In extreme cases such as losing the owner's key, this key may be the last hope since it can generate all the other keys, this key must be kept as well as possible.

(Q). How I protect my passkey?

That said, it should be known that the master key is the most important of all, so it should be kept as well as possible, I would recommend saving it in a place without an internet connection such as a Hard Drive, a flash drive (Pendrive), or even write it down on a physical sheet or notebook.

(Q). How to make steem transfers to other users?

As a first step, you must access the wallet with the activation key, then you must touch the triangle that appears next to the steems and then you must click Transfer .

As a second step, you must write the name of the person to whom you want to transfer , you must also select the amount to transfer and if it will be transferred in Steems or SBD.
As Third Step, the action must be accepted and Done.

(Q). How to perform the power up process in Steem?

You must click the little triangle that appears next to the steems mentioned above and as the next step you must click on the Power Up button

.

Once the previous step is completed, the amount of steems to be transformed must be selected then it must be clicked on the accept button or give advanced options .

And if you are in doubt as to what the advanced options are for, as they are used to transfer steem power to another user, for this you must write the name of the user to whom you want to transfer in the square marked with a green arrow, and ready, you should only click on accept or in basic settings in case you no longer want to transfer (To return to basic options, you must touch the button marked with the blue arrow.

As additional information you can also do the Power Down process, which consists of converting steem power into steems, to carry out this process you must touch the triangle that appears next to the steems dollars and click on the Power Down button and perform the same steps used to perform the Power Up.

You are using an application, there is nothing on the steemit platform as Posting Code and Owner Password

What reason do you have in changing what you have on the pdf?
