Today I will be writing on the basic security on steem.

Security means to keep safe or protect , steem has set up a system that protects every users personal info ,earnings and privacy
When a user signs up to steemit a set of keys is generated for he/her this keys are unique to the user and it's meant to secure their account , earnings and enable them use and navigate easily on steem platform
Some of these keys include

1. MASTERS PASSWORD

It's used to derive all other keys ,it is very vital . This key is needed in a chase were you password is lost it can be used to generate a new. This key should be kept save cause it can be used to regenerate every other key and through it your account can be hacked and your tokens would be stolen.

1. POSTING KEY

This key is used to post, resteem , comment, vote,edit
. This is the key that is used everyday to login because of how frequently it is used it can easily be hacked .it is a limited posting key meaning it will be replaced or changed after a period of use to ensures maximum security and restrict damages to the account.

1. OWNER KEY

This is the most powerful key. This key can change all keys ,it can be used for the recovery of other keys and lost accounts. It is advices to save this key offline.

1. MEMO KEY

This is used to encrypt and decrypt memo for fund transfer.

1. ACTIVE KEY

This key I used for task such as funds transfer, power up/down transactions, converting Steem Dollars, voting , placing a market order,updating profile details .

All this keys are meant for different functions and are all important, it is not advice to share this keys with a third party .

if these keys emphasis on the master key is lost the user looses access to your account.

How to keep your master password safe

To ensure the safety of you key it's advicable to;
-Save an offline copy on a hard drive or email.

• Avoid sharing you keys with a third party

WHAT IS A STEEM WALLET

A steem wallet is more like a purse or bank account where funds are kept. This wallet gives the user access to what he/her reward ,through the posts you make or when you vote. it also gives the user freedom to send and receive funds
Each steemit user has a wallet address when they download a wallet . Through this address you can interact with the blockchain. This block chain shows transactions that are carried out.

How to transfer steem token from one wallet to the other

To do this you will need your private posting . First you log into your steemit account and click on wallet, then click on the 3 lines that appear on the far left,click sign in at the top of the bar.

it'll take you directly to log in, you can then proceed by inserting your username and posting key .

When you click on the small arrow next to 2.502 an image like the on above will appear Click transfer

Next

1. input the name of the person you want to transfer to.
2. input the amount
3. creat a memo
4. send

HOW TO POWER UP ON STEEM

To power up after login into you wallet next to the 2.502 Steem as mentioned in "how to transfer Steen tokens from your wallet to there above" click on the small black arrow

-click power up an a dialogue interface will show up
-insert the amount you need to power up and press the power up button .
