ACHIEVEMENT 2 : Basic Security on Steem by @liamnov

Hello everyone in Steemit Community. Today I wanna talk about the Basic security on Steem. Even though I'm not a newbie in steemit but still I need to know more about the basic security in steemit. What are the keys that are commonly used in steemit? How I keep my password safe. How to increase your steem power. How to transfer your steem to another steem wallet.

Types of Steemit Keys

PRIVATE MASTER KEY - is used to generate a password when you lost or forgot your private keys. It will restore your keys in steemit. You can use this to open your account in steemit when you lost your private keys. It is important to keep this safe and secure.

PRIVATE POSTING KEY - this is commonly used to login into your steemit account. It will allow you to make an upvote to another steemit user, commenting in some posts of other steemit users and you can also post your content in steemit. You can also perform resteeming some posts so that your followers can see your resteem post.

PRIVATE OWNER KEY - this key is used to reset all your keys in steemit. It is mainly used to recover your account if the owner of the account will change their keys when their account was compromised. It is recommended to keep this password safe offline.

PRIVATE ACTIVE KEY - this key is used in monetary and wallet transactions such as transferring your Steem or SBD into another steemit account. Also, it is used in powering up your steempower and power down.

PRIVATE MEMO KEY - this key is decrypted private memo when transferring funds especially on SBD withdrawal on your steemit account.
In addition to steemit keys, we are also given this Tron account Public and Private Key.

TRON PRIVATE KEY - this key has the highest authority in your Tron account. This is used in signing transactions such as transferring tokens, freezing, and voting.

How to keep your password safe?

In my own opinion. Password must be saved offline like you will write the password on a piece of paper and put it into your wallet or in a safety box. You must also keep your password in the messenger. Based on my experience I send my password into my sister messenger that's why I can recover my account when the steemit platform back.

How to increase your steempower?

Based on my experience, you can increase your steempower by having the quality content of your post which the curator will upvote with high rewards. You can also increase your steempower by buying some steem and convert by powering up. I will show step by step you how to power up your steem to steempower

Step 1: You must have available steem in your wallet. Click the arrow beside your available steem balance and select power-up.

Step 2: Enter the specific amount of steem you want to convert into steem power. Then click the "power-up" button

Step 3: You must confirm the transfer for vesting.

Step 4: You must Sign-in again to complete the transfer of your steem to steempower. You must enter your steem master password in this transaction. Then click the "sign-in" button. Then finish. Now my steempower increase by 9 steempower.

In the conversion method, the equivalent of 1steem = 1steempower.

How to transfer Steem To another steem wallet.

Step 1: Make sure that you have a balance in your steem wallet.

Step 2: Click the arrow beside your available steem balance and select "transfer"

Step 3: Enter the account name where you transfer your steem. Then enter the amount of steem you want to transfer. Then click the "next"' button.

Step 4: Then confirm transfer 1 steem to @lonelymae. Then click the " ok" button

Step 5: Then you must sign in to complete the transfer. You must enter your master password in this transaction. Then click the "sign-in " button. Now my steem balance was deducted by 1steem which I transfer to @lonelymae account.
