Achievement 6 Task by @lealtafaith : Understanding Curation and Community
Good day fellow friends and steemians!
Today is the day to do and share to you all my Achievement 6 which is "Understanding Curation and Community".
Do you understand how voting and curation work in steemit?
Yes, first let me answer about how voting work in steemit. Voting, it is one of our activities in which it has positive side called "upvote" and negative side that is called "downvote". We do upvotes towards the good content that is of our interest and some steemians also do downvotes that I don't know why but lets do focus at the positive one. It is also advised to atleast vote 10 times per day because each vote we give consumes 2% of our 100% "Voting mana" and that 20% consumable mana will recharge on the next day. Consuming mana means consuming influence in which the vote grant will have different value and is decreasing.
While the curation which means an act of granting upvote to quality post that gets our interest or to some comments. It work in steemit because by curations the rewards in reward pool are evenly distributed, also it complies based on our Steem power because the greater Steem power we carry, the greater rewards we may able to distribute. The distribution will be 50% to curator and the other 50% goes to the author but it has also a different calculation based on the time of the upvote or the first 5 minutes marks after posting.
What happened if you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?
Here's what will happen if we vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting.

Curation rewards can be earned through the upvotes we grant through posts or comments, while granting downvotes means deduction of the rewards so it also means no earnings for doing such thing.
Who will you vote for Steem Witness? and Why?
Steem Witnesses are the people that creates blocks to maintain the Steemit blockchain and are supported by community through votes so as for me I will definitely vote @steemchiller and @justyy.
Why? because in my opinion Steemworld.org, developed by @steemchiller, and steemyy.com, developed by @justyy, are easy to use just like me who is a newcomer in the community. The tools they developed are effective and as far as I know are active witnesses who keeps developing their tools in Steemit blockchain for the better. My experienced using their tools during my review were really good and I did have fun trying it. Also the learnings were the best part.
Which community will you join in Steemit, and Why?
Steemit has many active communities with different purposes, rules and activities that we have to follow for us who are new to not be banned. I have been exploring different communities and I guess we all do as newcomers. Below are the communities I have joined and still have been exploring.

It is a community where they have great professors that enables newcomers, like me for example, to gain knowledge and be aware of cryptocurrencies that we might not know of and they have given homeworks to steemian students where they can gain rewards too. Hopefully soon I can participate and be one of the students for me to have development in Steemit blockchain.
A community which is composed of Philippine people all over the world like me and as a Filipino I felt comfortable knowing that we can interact using our native language. They also made an activity where members do interactions through comments with the sense of knowing each other to make the community better.
I have joined this community because as I explore, it is mostly about the act of kindness and the community itself has been helpful. I love kindness and they proved it through activities, reports and projects.
I participated in one of the community contest and I am happy that they welcome every participants. They have lots of weekly contest going on in this community and they do comment their appreciation of new members who participates in their weekly activities.
One of them had invited me to join and I did though I didn't explore it yet. They have this advocacy of empowering young people all over the world and more on education, social, humanitarian and the global goals. I am young and I love their advocacy and soon to participate in their activities.
I did participate in one of their contest and glad they notice my participation with full support. They also have an advocacy of empowering people with a twist of no limits.
A community I have joined and did delegate a little SP giving back the support they have given to me. They have set new rules for the betterment of the community and the members. I am happy to be part in this community.
I am also looking forward to explore other communities that will get my interest such as Steem Gaming since I love mobile and computer games.
Lastly, for saying hi to @cryptokannon in the steemingcurators discord server as part of my last task in which I failed because the invitation link given has already expired and I can't find it because it requires tag.
I would like to end it here and hopefully I do great and understand the task well.
