Hello my fellow steemians, hope you're having a great time.
I'm here to perform my achievement 3 task, content etiquette, it's all about plagiarism. I want to start by defining what plagiarism is.

###WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
Plagiarism according to my own understanding is the act of taking or stealing another person's work to be yours without proper citation or quotation

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM:

• They include;

• Direct plagiarism:
  This is when someone copies another person's work word for word without using quotation mark or citing the work.

• Paraphrasing Plagiarism:
  This is when someone uses another person's writing with some minor changes in the sentences and using it as his/her own.

• Inaccurate Authorship:

This is also known as misleading attribution. It happens when a person gets credit without contributing to the work or when someone's contributes to a work but does not get credit for it.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

• By keeping sources you consult in your research

• Credit the original author in a citation and reference list

• Citation:
  This is telling your readers that a particular point in your work or research came from another source.

• How to cite a work;

Write the author's name, year of publication, title of the source, where it was published, the publisher and where it was published.

CONCLUSION:I have read and understood the Steemit etiquette and Steemit community, I will do my best to embrace them.
