On Diwali day, people meet with their friends, family, and relatives to exchange greetings and well wishes. Sharing sweets, celebrating with joy, and giving gifts are important aspects of this festival.

On this day, people worship Goddess Lakshmi, seeking her blessings for wealth, prosperity, and happiness. Aarti (devotional song), mantras, and bhajans (devotional hymns) are sung during the worship.

During Diwali, people indulge in sweet treats and especially enjoy making and sharing various types of sweets. Popular sweets include kaju katli (cashew fudge), gulab jamun (sweet dumplings), jalebi (syrup-soaked pretzels), barfi (sweet squares), laddu (sweet balls), and sevaiyan (vermicelli dessert).

People also create colorful rangoli designs with their friends and family during this festival. Rangoli is a type of art made with colored powders or flowers. It is created outside or inside the house and is believed to bring beauty and good luck.
