ACHIEVEMENT 3 by @kingkenny042 CONTENT ETIQUETTE
Steemit is a platform where users can post creative and original contents about anything they want and earn money from posting them on different communities on the steemit platform.
What is Proof of Brain
In making a post a user must ensure that anything he/she posts must be from his or her brain that is what we call originality and proof of brain.
However, a user must give due recommendation by giving citation or source to other contents made by other's, failing to do that an individual has committed an offence known as plagiarism.
So what is plagiarism?
We've all at some point heard about the word 'plagiarism'. But do we actually know what it means?
Well, plagiarism can be defined as the act of copying or stealing someone's else work or idea and passing them off as your own.
Plagiarism can also be referred to as the act of committing literary theft. When you pose someone's original work as your own without properly citing or referencing them you have committed plagiarism.
Plagiarism is a serious offence in steemit so therefore it must be avoided by all means.
Citation
Citation involves giving out a from of reference to posts and words that are not from you originally. For instance providing a link to a wikipedia page where you got a piece of information you added to your post is a from of citation as it helps readers to able to refer back to the original content.
You can use the mark up sign '>' is used to indicate a copy and pasted sentence.
Why do we add source to images on steemit
Images are used to convey idea's in a more simplified way. You will have to add source to copyright images to avoid copyright laws.
There are various site where we can access images for free such as,
Pixabay- www.Pixabay.com
Unsplash - unsplash.com
