ACHIEVEMENT 2: @kelvincole: TASK: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM: NIGERIA

Good day Everyone, good to be back again on this educative and amazing platform. Hope we are all having a wonderful Friday irrespective of where we reside. In this post which happens to be my achievement 2, i will be taking us through the "BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM"

I am glad to say that i have successfully retrieved all my key functions on Steemit and will be happy to share them here as well as explain what each of them does:

MY FIVE BASIC KEYS AND FUNCTIONS

Master Password
Owner Key
Active Key
Posting Key
Memo Key

MASTER PASSWORD: This Key as the name implies is used in generating/deriving all the other Keys for an account

OWNER KEY: This is also a very important Key just like the Master Password. This key can change any account,including the Owner key and it can also be used to recover any compromised account

THE POSTING KEY: This is the Key basically used for posting, commenting, editing and voting post. This Key can also be used for upvoting and downvoting as well as to resteem content.

THE MEMO KEY: This key is used for encrypting and decrypting and also for viewing messages.

I backed up my password and Keys on my email and laptop immediately my account was created and as such, i am fully aware of the safety of my Password and keys.

HOW TO TRANSFER MY STEEM TO ANOTHER STEEM ACCOUNT

Yes i do know how to transfer my steem token to another steem user account through the steps listed below:

• I will log into my wallet with my username and active Key.
• I will click on the small arrow beside my STEEM dollar balance and then select TRANSFER from the dropdown.
• Thereafter, i will key in the username of the recipient i want to transfer to.
• then i will key in the amount to be transfer(which must beless or equal to what i have in my Steem account
• Finally i click on OK. to confirm the transaction. Through this process, a successful transfer has been guaranteed.

HOW TO POWER UP MY STEEM
I can convert my Steem power to liquid Steem power or Dollar within the duration of four weeks and this process is called power down. This is a token of investment in Steemit. Tampering with my Steem power gives me access to do other things and also commenting on post on Steemit, and the Steem backed dollar(SBD) can be transfered to another account

In conclusion, i have been able to explain the different Keys and their usage in Steemit and to effectively protect my Password and other Keys and by so doing doing securing my account
