ACHIEVEMENT 2: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEMIT BY @kanimiles

After having completed my achievement 1 which was an introductory post of mine, I would like to say thank you to @ngoenyi for verifying the post. I would like to move on to my achievement 2 which talks about basic securities on steemit.

Do you know that security is one of the world's basic amenities today and steemit blockchain community with their users interest at heart decided to provide it's users with this basic amenity and today, I'll be enlightening you all on the basic security measures on steemit today.

The steemit community is a fast growing community with a huge number of users and the community organizers found it fit to put in place securities to protect the interest of their users to prevent situations of account theft and other cyber crimes that can be perpetuated on Steemit users account hence by creating certain personalized passwords assigned to a particular user they are able to protect their users interest.

QUESTION 1
HAVE YOU RETRIEVED ALL YOUR STEEMIT KEYS?

Yes i have done absolutely that, this was done when i signed up newly on the steemit platform there on my steemit keys were displayed to me and i noted them down in my diary book of which i hold dear and keep safe.

QUESTION 2

DO YOU KNOW THE VARIOUS KEYS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS?

Yes i am fully aware of the various keys and their functions this was through a post i read, it was authored by @cryptokannon of which i am of the understanding that there are 5 Keys.

1 POSTING KEY

This key is used to make different posts on the steemit platform it enables you to create posts, edit posts vote on posts and also follow other steemit users and also silence them. It is like your everyday key interesting right.

2 ACTIVATION KEY

This key i call it the money key, it's a key that enables you make transactions on the steemit platform various transactions like transfer of steem from your account to another steem account other functions like powering up and powering down and other wallet transactions i guess you should always keep this key close by and safe always

3 OWNER KEY

I call this key the control key, it is has the capacity of altering other keys when something goes wrong with them or they have been likely compromised. I always advice that this particular key be saved somewhere safe online and offline incase of emergencies.

4 MEMO KEY

This key is used for the decryption of data and also encryption of data while making transfer of messages across the steemit platform it's a vital key and should also be kept safe.

5 MASTER KEY
This key is the overall key it is used to generate other keys and it is sent to you upon signing up and it should be kept safe i did this by writing it down in my diary i guess you also should do what you find best for you.

How do you plan on keeping your master key safe

I did so by saving the PDF sent to me on my Google drive and also printed the key out and saved kept it amongst my documents in my room and i also wrote it in my diary.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM TOKEN TO ANOTHER ACCOUNT?

Yes i know how to transfer steem token to another account I'll be displaying the steps shortly via some screenshots i made on my account while transferring steem token to another account
•Go to your steemit wallet

•Click on balance

•Click on steem balance

After the last outlined Option alit of options will pop up as seen in the picture below

Simply click on the transfer option another window will be opened where you can fill in the details of whom you want to make the transfer to and it is done.

QUESTION 5

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO POWER UP YOUR STEEM?
Yes to power up your steem go to your steem wallet first.

Click on balances the window opens then you.

Click on steem balance different options pop up then there on you see the power up Option.

Another window displays

fill in the amount you want to power up and once you have confirmed it you have successfully powered up your steem.
