Good day everyone my name is @jonesfx ones again my achievement 2 has just been verified so am here to submit my achievement 3.

What is Plagiarism?

As defined on source👇🏻

Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work

As defined by the University of Oxford👇🏻

Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition.

As such, #plagiarism is a punishable offense.

Types of plagiarism

-Complete plagiarism:
This is the most severe form of plagiarism and very punishable by law since the impersonator takes the complete glory of the authors work as his

-source base plagiarism
This can be seen when an author uses wrong reference inorder to burrow a work.
And can equally be seen when an author brings out only the primary source of data and neglect the secondary source.

-Direct plagiarism
This is when the author uses another's authors text from word to word without doing some corrections or adjustments of it. It is similar to complete plagiarism.

-self plagiarism
This is attain when an author uses an important patch from his previous work without attributes.

-.Mosaic Plagiarism:
Also called patchwork plagiarism.
It is the use of someone else's text or phrase within your work which sometimes can be very very difficult to detect

-inaccurate authorship
This occur when someone contributes greatly for a piece of work but is not acknowledge for it or someone takes glory for a work that he contributes nothing in bringing the work.

-accidental plagiarism
This could be as a result of unintentional paraphrasing or mistakes.

Data Fabrication and Falsification
are forms of plagiarism too.
•talking about data fabrication it refers to the use of made up data
•whereas Data Falsification refers to the ommitting of change of data to bring a different output.

  • a honest mistake

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

  • try to minimise mistakes
  • try to be original
  • cite all primary and secondary sources correctly.
