Basic Security In Steemit

Special greetings to everyone here.I did my introductory post early this month. Well this is my achievement 2, which is a guide to transact in steemit, keys and some questions pertaining to security in steemit.
Security in steemit are those basic keys that controls the accessibility of an account, transactions and content creating. These keys are encrypted and are very difficult to hack, it is not like the conventional password that are created on other media. Each of these keys have their specific function which will be known in this post. I hope this post helps y'all to know how to secure your keys, power up, transact and also transfer liquid steem.

Question 1

Have you retrieved all your keys?

Yes I did retrieve all my keys after creating my steemit account and they are safe.

Question 2

Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes I do, and there are listed below:

1. POSTING KEY: This key helps us to logging into steemit without using the master key, so as to keep the master key safe. It is used when we want to make a post, resteem, edit, and vote.

2. ACTIVE KEY: This key is used to power up and also to power down, transfer funds and convert steem dollars.

3. MEMO KEY: This key is used for encrypting and decrypting messages and transactions that goes through the block chain.

4. OWNER KEY: This key can change every other key, so it must be kept safe. It is the most power key on steemit, so it shouldn't enter the wrong hands. Store this key somewhere safe.

5. MASTER KEY: The master key is used to generate other keys. This key is gotten when you sign in, after which it can be used to retrieve the aforementioned keys at steemit.com wallet. Keep the master key safe too.

How do you plan to keep your master password?

My master password is kept offline, in a place as safe as possible.

Question 4

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes I do and the steps are given below:

• Step 1: Login to your wallet with your posting key, then click on the drop down arrow close to STEEM and you will be shown a list of four options.

• Step 2: Click on the transfer icon, after which you can input the name of the steemit user you want to transfer the steem token to and also the amount of token you want to send

• Step 3: press on next and then confirm the transaction by pressing ok.

Question 5

Do you know how to power up your steem?

Yes I do and the steps are given below:

• Step 1: Login to your wallet. Then click on the drop down icon close to STEEM, and then select the power up icon.

• Step 2: A window will open showing the amount to input. Input the amount you want to power up, then click the power up option, after which you input your active key, then you click ok.

• Step 3: Go back to your wallet and check your steem power.
