Review of SteemScan

Hello, today I would like to submit Achievement 5.2, which is a review of SteemScan.com. Thanks to @cryptokannon and @yohan2on for creating and facilitating this achievement.

1. Please explain the current Steem price and volumes on date of submission of this review.

Currently on SteemScan, as you can see, the price for Steem is $0.26 and the volume for today is just over $250,000. The way you can see the price and volume is to look at the right side of each graph.

On the left graph, you can see it says "Price," so that graph shows the most recent prices, ending with $0.26, which I have highlighted on the graph.

The graph on the right is titled "Volume." It shows recent volume of Steem on the market, ending on the right side with the most recent volume. As you can see, on the right side of the graph the line ends just over $250,000.

2. Please explain what information is shown under "latest transactions" and "latest blocks" sections.

Under "Latest Transactions" you can see the latest transactions that have taken place in Steem, including block ID, ID, timestamp, sender, receiver, type of transaction, and amount.

Under the "Latest Blocks" section, you see the latest Steem blocks mined and who mined them. The block ID is listed on the left, and then height, timestamp, block transactions, and who mined the block.

3. Please explain what information is shown under the "Witnesses" section and the steps to vote for a witness.

To get to the witness section, first one needs to click "Menu" in the top left of the home page.

Next, click "Witnesses." This brings up the Witnesses list:

The following information is shown: Witnesses by rank, approval, status, version, last mined, missed, price feed, reg fee, and finally the Vote button.
To vote for a witness, go to the listing for that witness and click Vote! on the right side of their listing.

4. What are DApps? Mention three DApps which you have already used or may use in future as per your interest.

DApps are Decentralized Apps. They are apps or websites based on the Steem blockchain.

I am currently playing DrugWars, which I found the other day on SteemScan under the DApps list. I also found D.tube years ago on the SteemScan DApps list, and I sometimes use D.tube.

5. How does one use "Quick Convert" and what is the fee charged for different Steem amounts for withdrawal?

Once again, click the Menu button on the top right, and it will bring you here:

Click Quick Convert. It will land you on this page:

As you can see, for 10 Steem you pay a fee just over US$1.00, and you would receive about 50 cents. Obviously, this would hardly be worth doing.

However, if you choose to cash in 1,000 Steem, you pay the same fee, making it worth the fee:

Instead of paying a dollar to exchange 10 Steem and get 50 cents, you would pay a dollar to exchange 1,000 Steem for $260.

6. What information is provided by the "Search" feature?

If you click Menu and then click the Search option at the top of the page, you get this page:

You can search for transactions by account name, transaction, or block ID.

Here, I have searched for an account name (my own account):

As you can see, it shows the account name, who they are voting for, value of the account in US$, and supply percentage.
