Plagiarism is the act of an individual to take a copy of someone else work without referring the individual as the source of knowledge and it is punishable by law.
Plagiarism is part of the Cyber crime which we suffer from today because some individual partake in this act unawares because of lack of training on this Cyber crime. I am grateful for steemit bring this issue back to life and give us the chance to make research and educate others.
Here are some disadvantages of plagiarism;
It cause the downfall of somebody's business due to the fact that the individual might plan on selling that idea you stole and then you have just reduced the number of customer he is meant to have.
It will definitely lead to you paying fines due to court case.
It leads to expulsion or suspension from some platform eg steemit platform.
It leads to piracy because the idea you stole you wont understand the actual reason behind and thereby you can't explain for another.
The law which fight against plagiarism is called the copyright law
The copyright law can be seen as laws which protect an individual's content from being copied without his permission, or reference been given to him.
This are some copyright laws:
You cannot rent out the software in question without the permission of the owner.
You cannot use the content on a network; unless the license allows it.
You cannot make a copy of the content and sell it.
There are two simple ways to avoid plagiarism and that is;
1.To always refer the source of origin.
2.To use a plagiarism content checker to check whatever you want to post.
An Example of Citation
Stage fright can be seen in an individual in form of fear in the presence of a large audience. “Stage fright or performance anxiety is the anxiety, fear, or persistent phobia which may be aroused in an individual by the requirement to perform in front of an audience”source
The above definition has one original sentence
Stage fright can be seen in an individual in form of fear in the presence of a large audience.
The next definition is copied and pasted from Wikipedia and as such placed in quotation mark
