Hello friends, it feel nice to be back again and I hope were good and having a nice time.
Achievement 1 & 2 has been completed and duly verified and I learnt some lessons from it. I look forward to making improvements as I continuosly engage in this interesting writing articles/blog.
This Achievement 3 task handles all issues relating to Content Etiquette which basically deals on Plagiarism.
This community facilitates and permits the sharing of original notions via text or write-ups, audio-visuals and pictorials, therefore, content etiquette should be adequately conveyed to all for stringent compliance to rules as it impacts on the sharing and citing of contents. Nevertheless, Plagiarism may happen intentionally or unintentionally.
Plagiarism means making use of borrowed exact wording of another writer without making attribution, unique and substantial research discoveries or interpretations in the making of a new work without adequate citation. Plagiarism implies failing to appropriately quote, paraphrase and cite sources.
Simply put, plagiarism is presenting quotes or ideas of another person without their express permission or as a citation. It similar to crime of counterfeiting and offense in the field of education.
The following are some types of plagiarism:
- Direct Plagiarism
- Accidental Plagiarism
- Mosaic plagiarism
- Self Plagiarism
The consequences of plagiarism varies and depneds on the committed, so the following are some consequences of plagiarism:
Plagiarism has the capacity of ruining one's professional career.
Depending on the person, institutions, or law against which the offense of plagiarism is committed, it may lead to imprisonment.
One may also be fined for committing plagiarism.
Plagiarism may also lead to expulsion or loss of work.
Plagiarism can be avoided by the following:
- Using citations for the original source.
- Paragraphing or quoting.
- Using summaries
- Above all, using your own words in writing.
