Achievement 2 @i-am-the-best// Task: Basic Security On Steem

Hello steemians!!

It is nice to get in touch with you all again after introducing my self on the Steemit in my Achievement 1 post.
In this session and part of my achievement in newcomers community, I am going to share my knowledge and understanding about the basic security on Steemit. At the first time, as the beginner I felt so confused about what the basic keys on Steemit are and how they work when the users use the platform. Then, I started learning from some sources such as from the artikel by @cryptokannon, @radjasalman or the menu FAQ available on the website. It gives me the deep understanding so that I am confident to write this article as my task in Achievement 2 : Basic Security on Steemit

Just like any other social media accounts which require password to login so that the users can access the accounts, so does Steemit. But basically, Steemit is a little different because It provides its users with security system by generating multiple keys which are commonly referred to permission keys, they are posting key, active key, memo key and owner key.

These unique keys have their separate functions and they are so important to be known by the users of this platform.

Let's See What Security Is All About
Security means to keep a thing safely and protecting it from others without letting other people know about it. So basically,
Security of passwords is more efficient keeping it safely offline so that we do not lose it.

Basic Security can be defined as keeping things in a protected way and a safer side so that in future we could easily get it whenever we need it.

Have you Retrieved all your keys after signing up and completing all the process required to make Steemit account?

          **USING CHROME**

In other to recover all your previously saved password on steemit, input the url in your google chrome browser https://passwords.google.com/ Immediately after you type in the URL and press send then you will be redirected to a new page where you will need to input your password

After been redirected to the new page as shown above, input your password then you will be redirected to a new page, where you will have a list of password that have already been saved, all you need to do is hit the preview button as shown below.

The Different keys On Steemit And Their Functions And Restrictions

Posting key: The posting key allows accounts to post, comment, edit, vote, resteem, and follow or mute other accounts. Most users should be logging into Steemit every day with the posting key. You are more likely to have your password or key compromised the more you use it so a limited posting key exists to restrict the damage that a compromised account key would cause.

Active key: The active key is meant for more sensitive tasks such as transferring funds, power up/down transactions, converting Steem Dollars, voting for witnesses, updating profile details and avatar, and placing a market order.

Owner key: The owner key is only meant for use when necessary. It is the most powerful key because it can change any key of an account, including the owner key. Ideally, it is meant to be stored offline, and only used to recover a compromised account.

Memo key: This key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds. In order to encrypt a memo, use the pound/# sign before it.

Steps Of Transferring Steem Token To Another Steem User Account

1. Go to your wallet.
2. Under STEEM Menu click on the icon beside the Steem link to see a list of drop down menu.
3. Click on the first drop down menu TRANSFER to open this page below.

1. Fill in the spaces then click next and complete the process.

Steps Of Powering Up Your Steem

1. Go to your wallet.
2. Under STEEM Menu click on the icon beside the Steem link to see a list of drop down menu.
   
3. Click on the 3rd drop down menu POWER UP to open this page below.

1. Fill in the amount.
2. Click power up and complete the process.
