Achievement Two Task By @huzaifa22 Task- Basic Security On Steem
Hi guys
It's another wonderful day for me to complete my second achievement of the @cryptokannon achievement task.I hope you all are doing great.
Have you retrieved all your keys in steemit?
Yes I have, after creating my account, I downloaded the generated Pdf and ensured it was saved in a place where no one else can access it.
Do you know each of this keys function and restrictions?
Yes, I took time to read the Pdf .
Posting keys
With the posting keys, it's easier and possible to edit post, reply, comment on post etc. The posting key prevent's compromising ones account.
Active Key
In controlling the wallet, the active Key is used. It shows possession of the wallet and should be a private key. In powering up and down, we use this key. It is also used in conversion of steem to steem dollars and vice versa.
Owner Key
The owner key is also known as the power key. It is used in retrieving compromised account and also in generating or changing keys. It's function is almost the same as the active Key.
Memo Key
Memo key is used in creating memos during funds transfer . In encrypting and decrypting of memos, it is also used.
How do you plan to keep your Master password?
The master key is a vital key. This key is needed in recovery of accounts. It's the secret of all the keys.
I have saved it in my Gmail so I can access it at anytime.
How to transfer your steem token to another steem user account
- You first click on the avatar icon and select wallet from the pop up menu that appear.
- Using the active Key, sign in to your wallet with your username.
- Login into wallet
- Click on steem and select transfer from the pop up menu.
- Then, click on next and confirm.
Do you know how to power up your steem?
Yes I do
- With your private key, sign into your wallet.
- Click on your steem token and click on power up from the pop up menu.
- Input the amount of steem you want to power up and click on power up.
- Click on okay to confirm
With the knowledge I have about steemit so far, I believe I have answered the questions to satisfaction. I hope this together with my achievement 1 will be verified soon so I can move on to the next achievement task. Thank you.
