So today I read about the third achievement and I learn a lot of new things. So I am sharing my knowledge about Content Etiquette and plagiarism.

What is Plagiarism?

It is actually the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. It is actually without his/her permission.

Explanation:

Lets understand the plagiarism in more detail, lets suppose some have been created the content with a lot of effort and hard work, it might be any video, written blogs, research, art, graphic designing, photos and much more, and you use these materials in your own content without the permission of that person who created the content. This is known as plagiarism. If someone wants to use created content they must get permission first from that person who created content or give credit to the owner of the content. This content can maybe any type of audio, video, text images etc.

Example:

Now lets understand Plagiarism with an example. Lets suppose you are a Youtuber and you make video for youtube with a lot of hard work and effort. You get up early in the morning and go for a shoot and then came back home and set on your computer for many hours to edit that video and then finally you upload that video. But someone withiut your permission downloads your video and uses it in their own content without giving you credit , so will feel bad for it.
But here is one thing of learning, whenever someone uses your content without your permission and not give you credit, it is called plagiarism and it is not allowed in any online platform. The creator has right to take action against him.

Types of Plagiarism:

There are many types of plagiarism but I am explaining the most 8 common types here.

1) Complete Plagiarism

2) Source Base Plagiarism

3) Self Plagiarism

4) Paraphrase Plagiarism

5) Mosaic Plagiarism

6) Accidental Plagiarism

7) Direct Plagiarism

8) Inaccurate Authership

Let me explain all these types in detail.

1) Complete Plagiarism:

When you copy the content of other person and post it with your own name. This type of plagiarism is called complete plagiarism.

2) Source Base Plagiarism:

It is define as, when you post other person's content and give the reference but reference is wrong.

3) Self Plagiarism:

Lets understand the self plagiarism with an example. Lets suppose you write your daily routine diary but you post it in more than one community. This is called self plagiarism because you are reusing your content.

4) Paraphrase Plagiarism:

It is define as, when you copy someone else content and do some changes. Its mean coping someone else idea and modifying for himself.

5) Mosaic Plagiarism:

It means you use someone's else content in your own content. means you mix up the content.

6) Accidental Plagiarism:

Its mean that you are withing your own content but accidentally you use some paragraph that is already used somewhere.

7) Direct Plagiarism:

It is known as copy paste plagiarism. Just coping someone else content without any change.

8) Inaccurate Authorship:

This type of plagiarism happens when you mislead Authorship about your content.

My own Suggestion for Avoiding Plagiarism:

1- When you create your own content but takes someone's help from online research, so you must check your content with plagiarism tool. It will help you to find copy past writing in your content. Many online tools are available for checking plagiarism.
2- Always give a source to your content. Lets suppose you copy the image from google so also give the link of the source image.
3-Try to develop your own content. Its far better than any other thing. You just need to close your eyes and think about ideas.

What is Citation?

It is basically the reference from where you get the content. It is also called the reference of source.

Example of Citation:

" When two bodies interact, they apply forces to one another that are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. The third law is also known as the law of action and reaction."source

" I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my nest to embrace them."
