Achievement 6 Task by @hocus-pocus47 : Understanding Curation and Community
Do you understand how voting and curation work in steemit?
On Steemit, one can gain rewards by voting posts or comments and by having one's own comments and posts voted on too. Once content is put up as a post you'd only have 7 days till payout. After this, the votes you recieve no longer influences your rewards. However, within this period, other users can upvote your posts if they like it or downvote it if it doesn't agree with them. Downvoting usually doesn't change much so I'll focus on upvoting. Once someone votes, a portion of their voting mana goes into it to make it possible and it's worth noting that the weight or influence your vote would carry is dependent on the Steem Power(SP) you have available. The usual setting for posts is made such that 50% of the total rewards gained on a post goes to the content creator and the other 50% goes to curators(those who vote on posts) but this can be changed.
What happens if you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?
The Steemit platform is designed such that one is denied the total curation reward when he/she votes before 5 minutes after the post is put up. Therefore you're guranteed the total curation reward after 5 minutes have passed. The reward that one gets for curation is taken from the reward pool and for every minute that passes till after the 5 minutes, any vote made will have a portion returned to the pool. That's how come one is unable to reap the total curation rewards during that period. The rate is shown below as:

I will vote for @steemchiller and @justyy due to the fact that they've made some great contributions to the Steemit Community as a whole, plus, they're still active witnesses.

Regarding communities, the first I joined was the SteemitCryptoAcademy simply because I'm intrigued by cryptocurrencies and all they have to offer. I also joined the Writing & Reviews Community to write and enjoy the works of great minds.
Thank you all the attention and a big thanks to @cryptokannon and the Newcomers' Community. These achievements though tough atimes have really helped me feel at home on Steemit as they have given me the basic knowledge to know my way around Steemit
