Hello steemians, welcome to my achievement2 post which is BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM. My achievement2 post is coming late due to some obstacles and I am sorry about it.
In this post, I'm going to share my knowledge on what I understand about the basic keys on steemit. As a newbie, I was confused on what are keys on steemit, how these keys works, how steem wallet functions but through the aid of my mentor and leader @godsbest, mentorship class and article by @cryptokannon article on the website,I began to understand steemit and how to do my achievements post.

Achievement 2: basic security on steemit.
What is security?
Security can be defined as a means to prevent danger or threat.
What are steemit keys?
Steemit keys are keys that provides more safety to the users by keeping their account safe.
When you first register your account,you are been given a master password. A master password is used to get keys for your account, including the owner key. Losing your original master password is risky and there is no way to recover it that why your master password is long and random for maximum security because your account has real value. Therefore,it's advisable to save your master password safe where you won't lose it and it shouldn't be kept in a password manager or a hard drive. It should be written down.
Also, why it's advisable to keep your master password safe is to prevent your steem tokens and your account from being stolen.
Steemit keys are:
- Permission🗝️.
- Posting keys🗝️.
- Active keys🗝️.
- Memo keys🗝️.
- Owner keys🗝️.
Each keys have their own specific role they play and give users opportunities to write,create, publish a content and be rewarded in crypto currency called STEEM.
-Permission keys🗝️.
The permission key is to perform the main purpose on steemit and to avoid using your master password for any operation. A steemit account that have 5 unique passwords generated is called PERMISSION KEYS.

• Posting keys🗝️.
  This allows account to post,comments,edit,vote,resteem,follow and mute other account. Most users login everyday with the posting key and one is more likely to to have my password or key compromised the more I use it,so, that's why there is a limited posting key that exist to avoid the damage that a compromised key would cause.
• Active key🗝️.
  It is meant for tasks that are sensitive such as transferring funds,powering up or down,converting steem dollars,voting for witnesses,updating profile details and avatar and placing a markert demand.
• Owner key🗝️.
  Owner key is used only when it is required. This is the most powerful key because it can change any key of an account including the owner key itself. Owner key is meant to be stored offline and only used to recover a compromised account.
  N:B keep your owner key safe to avoid loss of
  your account.
• Memo key 🗝️.
  Memo key is used for encypting and decrypting memos when transferring money.

What is a wallet?
A wallet is a safe place where funds,steem,steem power and steem dollars saved online user can view any financial transactions on steem wallet. Steem wallet is an application that allows you to manage your steem in the form of steem dollars,vests or steem.
Steemit wallet is a block chain that's transparent because every transanctions you make using the steem coin wallet is transperent for everyone to see. This wallet is used to give rewards to user when the user write and publish the content which enables the user to view in an online steemit. One can convert steem into steem dollars,pawar and some other crypto currency.
