Hello steemians, how are you all doing? Hope you all are cool and steeming to the moon. Today am very delighted to tell you that i would be making my Achievement 2 post on Basic Security on steem. I appreciate @samuel20 for his mentorship and guidance after going through the academy basic tutorial. Now to the task proper.

Being security conscious is very important in almost everything we do in life. Especially, when it involves our personal data and our finance, Our cryptos like: STEEM, SBD andTRON are very important and as such requires proper security of our Steemit keys.

So my fellow steemians, that is why i have decided to emback on this task to enable me answer the following Questions on the tutorial:

QUESTION 1
Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit?
Answer:
I have retrieved all the keys upon registration. They are the Posting key, Active key,Owner key etc.

QUESTION 2
Do you know each of these keys functions and and restrictions?
Answer
There are four main keys here. They are Posting key,Active key,Owner key and Memo key. The Master Password is the like mother password used to generate other keys. The keys and their basic functions is what i have listed below:

KEYS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS

1. MASTER PASSWORD: I call it the mother key. It is used to generate the other keys including the owner key.

2. POSTING KEY: This key is used for logging in to Steemit.com. it allows the user to post, comment, edit, resteem, follow and mute other accounts etc.

3. ACTIVE KEY: This key is used for performing sensitive functions such as powering up and powering down, transferring funds, voting for witness.

4. OWNER KEY: The owner key is only meant for use when necessary. Because its powerful enough to change any key in an account, including itself.

QUESTION 3
How do i plan to keep my master password?
Answer
I have been advised to store my master password offline, in a digital storage, such as: an external disk, printed paper,flash drive infact, anywhere safe externally in case of a hard drive failure.

QUESTION 4
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem account?
Answer

Yes my mentor @samuel20 has explained it to me. The step to transferring steem to another user is as follows:

∆Log in to Steemit
∆Go to wallet
∆click on drop down steem
∆ Enter the recievers username and amount of steem to be transfered
∆ click on next and complete the process by entering my Active key

The active key grants the final access which allows the said fund to move to the recievers wallet.

QUESTION 5
Do you know how to power up your steem?
Answer
Yes. To power up steem means to convert liquid steem to an investment form called steem power (SP) i was taught by my mentor on how to power up my steem.

To Power up
• Login to steemit
• Click on wallet
• Click on the drop down steem
• Enter the amount of steem to be powered up then click on power up

Complete the transaction with the active key.

Do you know what i value the most in steemit.com?
It is their saving technique. Its automatic. You hardly loose what you are working so hard to work on, the datas and the informations.
