Hello fellow Steemians, I've acknowledged that we are provided with passwords and a variety of keys for our basic security on steem which is for our own good. It is very important for all members to know the importance and uses of each password provided to us.

Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

I obtained all my passwords and keys right after I created my Steem account. I went ahead to save them in different places in order to protect them and also make retrieval easy.

Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes, that's because I've read through the guide given to me about passwords and keys and their various uses. And I can confidently state that the;

Master Key: Is used to generate all other keys for your account including the Owner Key. The Master Key should be kept safe at all times because a person can steal your account and all your tokens once he has access to your Master Key. The Master Key is used when you want to recover your account.

Posting Key: Is the key that is frequently used amongst the other keys. That's because the Posting Key allows you to make your daily posts, comments, resteems, votes, edits and also follow or mute other accounts. This is the most compromised key since its frequent use makes it vulnerable; that is why a limited Posting Key exists to reduce the damage that a compromised key can bring.

Owner Key: Is the most powerful key amongst all the keys. This key is used to change any key of an account including the itself. It is highly recommended that you store this key offline and it should only be used to restore a compromised account.

Active Key: allows you to perform tasks such as; the transfer of funds, power up/down transactions, updating our profile details, and placing orders in the market.

Memo Key: is used to encrypted and decrypt messages when transferring funds to make them secure. When the pound sign is used before a memo, it encrypts the memo.

All keys are very essential so I decided to keep them on many platforms such as; email, some social media platforms, google drive, and my dairy to prevent me from losing them and also to protect them.

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

To successfully transfer steem token to another steem user account you must follow the steps below:

• Click on Wallet.

• Click on the Steem button.

• Click on Transfer from the drop down.

• Enter the recipient's username and the amount you want to send. Then click on Next.

• Click on Power Up

• Enter the preferred amount and click on Power Up.
