What is Plagiarism?

I believe that the internet has a way of breeding plagiarism. Many people feel the internet is big enough that no one would notice. I also believe that the internet makes it easier to find if someone has plagiarized content.

Will McDonough said, "I think almost every newspaper in the United States has lost circulation due to the Internet. I also think the Internet will lead to a lot of plagiarism in journalism."

Plagiarism is the use of someone else's work or ideas without giving them credit. This can happen when you copy something verbatim, or if you paraphrase someone else's ideas without giving them credit. Plagiarism can also happen when you use someone else's work as the basis for your own, without giving them credit. Plagiarism is considered a form of cheating and can result in serious consequences.

There are a few ways to avoid plagiarism. The best way is to always give credit where it is due. If you are quoting someone directly, be sure to use quotation marks and cite the source. If you are paraphrasing, be sure to give the original author credit. Finally, if you are using someone else's ideas as the basis for your own, make sure to give them credit.

If you are unsure about whether or not something is plagiarism, it is always best to err on the side of caution and give credit where it is due. Plagiarism is a serious issue and can have serious consequences. It is best to avoid it altogether.

I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them.
