What is plagiarism?
In my words it's the act of using another person work or idea as yours, it's fraudulent and dishonest.
Types of Plagiarism
Self- Plagiarism : Duplicating your post, that's copying your own work and posting it as another post.
Mosaic plagiarism: Using an idea and a few verbatim words from the source without citation or credit to the original Author.
Paraphrasing Plagiarism: using minor changes and using other writer's work
Accidental Plagiarism: This is defined as the act of copying persons work and no regarding the source of the work for example " No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars or sailed to an uncharted land or opened a new heaven to the human spirit". : Helen Keller
Vertatim Plagiarism: submitting another author work in your name.
How to avoid Plagiarism
- Use your words
- Ensure to always cite words with source.
- Give credit and acknowledgement to the original author.
- Verify your writing to avoid accidental Plagiarism
