Introduction

Hello steemians,i hope all are good in your life.I am happy because my achievement 2 has been verify and am moving to achievement 3,I am indeed grateful to @crytokannon for their assistance to me as a new baby here.

what is plagiarism

Here is how one reference source defined plagiarism:

Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Source

To my own understanding it's simple means stealing from someone's knowledge or scheme of work so that the glory will be yours, without telling the person that has the work for his or her permission .so it is serious offence since it involves taking the glory of what is not yours.

Types of plagiarism

Direct plagiarism

self plagiarism

Accidental plagiarism

complete plagiarism

DIRECT PLAGIARISM is the word - for -word transcription of a section of someone else's work, without attribution and without quotation marks.

SELF PLAGIARISM is one of the common types of plagiarism, where high school student copy and paste part of their previously submitted academic paper. If the two different class project without asking the concerned teacher, then that is considered as self -plagiarism.

Accidental Plagiarism:

Another common form of plagiarism involves accidental plagiarism. When the plagiarist misquotes the phrases or parts of the text he/she has taken from the source material or does not cite the source even or adequately or cites a wrong source, they that is considered as plagiarism.

Accidental Plagiarism
For incorrect authorship, even though the name of the work gets cited, the original writer can take disciplinary actions against the plagiarist, even though accidental plagiarism in no way intended.

COMPLETE PLAGIARISM is the most sever form of plagiarism where a researcher takes a manuscript or study that someone else created, and submitting it under his or her name .It is tantamount to intellectual theft and stealing.

How to avoid plagiarism

1 Try to create your own Ideas
2 Marking sure to have a reference
3 Use quotations when directly quoting someone
4 Do well to cite your source
