PLAGIARISM

Greetings to everyone, I want to start first by thanking a boss in this platform by name @ngoenyi for verifying my achievement 2 which was successful, a big thanks to you and may God richly bless you because it is not easy to take your precious time to verify my work. I always say and will keep saying I'm happy to be a member of steemit.Today I will be talking on plagiarism.Plagiarism is simply using an ideas or works which belongs to another person as if they are your own.Consent doesn't amount to plagiarism but if need be then it should be from the owner of the original work or idea, plagiarism involves works which have been printed or not even printed. Today plagiarism is considered theft

Plagiarism is an offense which attracts punishment to anyone guilty of using another's idea or work. The original owner of an idea is one who due to inspiration creates a work or formulates an idea which bears his name, signature or even a stamp. In the society today, plagiarism is taught even in schools and students are advice not to copy but rather be creative by their own, plagiarism when practice can brain wash students who could come out with new ideas which can go a long way to change the society. It is necessary to acknowledge the works or ideas of others because we can learn from them rather than taking advantage over it to make it look like your own. Moreover one cannot talk about plagiarism without first of all knowing or identifying the original idea or work, there must be prove of the author's original idea or work which is considered to be stolen, there is a need to be another party be it an individual or group of individuals who have stolen the work or idea of the original author.
Some of the reason why someone can plagiarize is because of the more genuine lack of idea or knowledge, when an author lacks what to write or is not inspired, he or she might decide to use the work or idea of another person.Despite the above, none of these instances are acceptable reasons to plagiarize.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
-Self plagiarism:This type of plagiarism happens when you copy your own writing, whether intentional or not. Often the person in a self-plagiarism incident is summarizing his own work instead of writing a whole new work different from the first one.

-Accidental plagiarism:This type of plagiarism is considered accidental when someone copies another’s writing without citing their source, the source is very important in order to easily identify the real owner of the work or idea. Sources clear doubts on who owns an idea or not.

-Source base plagiarism:This type of plagiarism refers to instances when misleading sources are involved. For example, the writer may have two sources of information but only reference one.

-Verbal plagiarism:As the name implies, the writing is stolen word to word and used in the new piece.

-Patchwork plagiarism: It is a when the work of the original author is paraphrased from one of more sources without citation. Though the writer may try to change the sentence structure or use synonyms to make it seem original. However, taking the idea of another piece is still plagiarism.

-Paraphrasing plagiarism:this is the most common type of plagiarism which is similar to the mosaic plagiarism style mentioned above. However, the difference is that the copied work isn’t mixed in with new concepts and research. When you paraphrase the original idea in your own words, the borrowed material stays the same throughout the new piece.
-Complete plagiarism: this involves stealing everything without leaving out some words nor ideas. It can be considered as the worse form of plagiarism.

EFFECTS OF PLAGIARISM
The first effect is that It is subject sanction. These sactions can take any form depending on the country and type of plagiarism. Plagiarism at times leads to imprisonment when caught in the act.

This is true because some countries do not even consider plagiarism a crime while to others one guilty of plagiarism will be punished because in that particular country plagiarism is considered a crime.Plagiarism might not be the same in all countries.
