Introduction

Hello steemian, i hope you'll having a great week and welcome to my third achievement post and here I'll be talking about plagiarism, the cause and how to handle it.

According to the Merriam-webster online dictionary to "plagiarism" means
. To steal and pass off ( the ideas or words of another) as one's own
. To use ( another product) without crediting the source
. To commit literary theft
. To present as new and original an ideal or product derived from an existing source

In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterwards.

Here is an example of citing a post as i just did for those who might not have known.

When someone copies someone else's image, video, music or any kind of work that wasn't given proper permission is considered plagiarism. the main reason people plagiarise is because they are too lazy and always want to find the easy way out, not wanting to be entrepreneurs but living on other people's work. From my experience what people plagiarise the most are photos and that's why i personally make mine, as shown below.

Consequences of plagiarism

Communities frown at plagiarism which is a crime and you cloud be muted or banned from posting in such community when caught on steemit.
If you plagiarise you have the chance of being sued as the original owner of the article might want to get justice for his stolen work.

conclusion

I have understood the whole concept of the steemit etiquette on the steemit community and will try my best to accept them, I really appreciate the fact that we actually have a steemit community that helps to clean all the plagiarised and spam content on steemit so a big shout out goes to @endingplagiarism. The moral of everything is that we should be really creative and not plagiarise, let's explore our creativity and go to extra length.
