Good day steemians, My achievement 4 is about APPLYING MARKDOWN which I will show in my understanding of EVOLUTION OF TYRES/WHEELS.
WHAT IS A WHEEL?
A wheel is a rim on which in the moden days tyres are attached to for steering.
WHAT IS A TYRE?
A tyre is the outer covering of a wheel which is commonly in form of rubber.
A wheel is a circular component that is intended to rotate on an axle bearing. The wheel is one of the key components of the wheel and axle which is one of the six simple machines. Wheels, in conjunction with axles, allow heavy objects to be moved easily facilitating movement or transportation while supporting a load, or performing labor in machines. Wheels are also used for other purposes, such as a ship's wheel, steering wheel, potter's wheel and flywheel._Wikipedia
In 1845, Robert William Thomson had the creative idea of using rubber as a wheel covering.By the end of the 1800s,John Boyd Dunlop had invented the first recognizably modern tyre, and the Michelin brothers had used compressed air to form a detachable tyre.

The word tyre is derived from the French word tirer, which means "to pull," According to Wikipedia tyres were made of leather or iron bands placed on wooden wheels prior to the invention of compressed air or air filled tyres. This would safeguard the cart and wagon wheels from excessive wear and tear.
Wooden wheels:
Early wheels, which consisted of a wooden. disk with a hole for the axle, played an important role in early societies. They were commonly used in the manufacture of pottery,irrigation, and milling.The wheel took hundreds of years to make its way into the first carriages.
Semi Steel Wheels:
Semi Steel Wheels are made of extremely strong steel that is naturally resistant to abuse and harsh environments. Semi steel wheels can withstand high temperatures and can be exposed to water and/or other harmful elements in harsh environments.They can withstand chemical, grease, and oil exposure. However, if exposed to fluids and chemicals on a regular basis, Cast Iron wheels will rust over time.

A rubber wheel is a continuous pressurized rubber and fabric cushion that is encircled and fitted to a wheel's rim.Chemicals are also mixed into the rubber to make it more resistant to wear, heat, and aging, as well as to produce desirechanges in its properties.Rubber provides the tire body with strength and agility.
Some Types Of Tyres(Dressed Wheels) are listed in the table below ;
