Hello everyone. I'm so glad to have gotten this far in the newcomers' community achievement tasks. Special thanks to @cryptokannon and the greeters for guiding me so far.
For this task, @cryptokannon provided some information on curation on Steemit and the Steemit communities in this post. I have studied the context and will therefore answer the following questions:

Do you understand how voting and curation work in steemit?

In the Steemit Blockchain, there is a pool of rewards from where users get paid. The idea here is that good content by users is upvoted by other users, thereby distributing rewards from the rewards pool.

Users that vote (otherwise called curators) on posts get 50 percent of the rewards they distributed. However, the amount of rewards that can be distributed by different curators differ based on the amount of Steem Power they possesses. The more Steem Power a curator possesses, the greater the influence on his/her votes.

When a user votes a post, his/her voting mana deplets. It is a bar that counts in percentage which gets lower every single time a person votes, be it on posts or on comments. Each vote eats up 2% of the voting mana. The influence that votes carry on posts is directly directly proportional to the percentage of the voting mana i.e as the voting mana gets used up, the voting power of a user decreases. However, the voting mana gets refilled by 20% everyday.

What happened if you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?

The curation rewards are also bound by time. If a user upvotes a post in less than 5 minutes after the post has been published, the user will receive less than 100% of the total 50% of the rewards as follows:

2 minutes	40%
3 minutes	60%
4 minutes	80%
5 minutes or more	100%
