Achievement 2 : Basic security in Steem
Achievement # 2 consists of the way to use the keys, the importance of saving the keys so as not to get to the point of losing them and not being able to access the platform.
1Have you obtained and saved all your Steemit passwords?
If the first day I got them I downloaded them in PDF file and saved them in different places: I wrote it in a notebook, I sent it to my email, on my phone and on WhatsApp because I believed that these are the safest sites.
2 Do you know all the functions and restrictions of the keys?
As everything at the beginning is somewhat difficult but thanks to the fact that I have friends on the platform who helped me to clarify my doubts about the keys and also look for information on the internet.
THE MASTER KEY.
This key must be stored in a place where only you can access it as it is the most important key because it gives us access to the other keys.
The Posting Key.
This key has a limited set of permission and cannot be used for monetary actions, it only allows us to post, comment, edit, vote, resteem, and follow or mute other accounts. It should be used to access the services of the Steemit platform on a daily basis.
The Activation Key (Active Key).
This allows us to configure our profile, manage our money, either to transfer it, convert it into Steem dollars, increase or decrease steem powers or transfer tokens.
The Owner Key: This key is only used when necessary. It is the most powerful of all since it allows us to change the keys, including the owner key, and only use it when your account is compromised.
The Memo Key.
This key is used to encrypt and decrypt memos when transferring funds. To encrypt a memo, use the numeral (#) before placing it, this key is the least used on the platform.
3 How do you plan to keep your master key safe?
I keep it safe in many places, but if where I have it it is written in a notebook because on the computer or on the phone I can accidentally lose it.
4 Do you know how to transfer your Steem tokens to another Steem user?
If step 1 is to go to the wallet.
Step N ° 2 At the top of the left side we click on logging in, then we put the user and the activation key.
Step N ° 3 we log in and go to STEEM, click on the tab and then transfer.
Step N ° 4. Next we enter the destination user, the amount we want to transfer and the memo then we press the option.
Step N ° 5. We carefully see if the data we entered is correct and we click the ok button and we finish with the operation.
5.- Do you know how to perform the power up process in steem?
If for this procedure we must use step 1 AND 2 of question number 4, then we get to the steem power option.
We select the power up option, then an emergency window will appear called convert to steem power where the amount of steem should be placed.
then the power up option is clicked. Finally the data is verified and we click OK, and voila, we finish the process.
