ACHIEVEMENT 2 @dohyin TASK: Basic security on steem

Introduction

Hello everybody am done with the achievement one. Now am writing on achievement two which I will be so glad to share my knowledge with you about the achievement 2, which is about the security on steemit.

It been days now that have been on steemit am hoping on the verification of my account. My first day of registration, i was given a document which contains all the required keys of steemit which is very important and some will be used in my transactions and have succeeded in saving all.

KEYS AND THEIR USES

MASTER KEY

As the name implies MASTER which simply mean head and the KEY which is a tool use in opening closed object . To my understanding and based on what have read the master key is the head and the most important key which can be used to also generate every other keys.
And also with the exposure of this keys it allows easy access to your steemit account.

PRIVATE ACTIVE KEY

This key is used for monetary and wallet related activity. We use it to transfer tokens from one wallet to another. We use this key for all transactions related stuff in the steemit wallet like powering up and power down our steem, conversion of steem to steem dollar and vice versa.

PRIVATE OWNER KEY

This is the privacy key. It is very important, it is used to change all other keys including the owner key. And it should be maintained with high level of security. This is not a key we use most time we only use it when necessary.

PRIVATE MEMO KEY

It is used for the conversion of encrypted private transfer memos into its original form.

PRIVATE POSTING KEY

It is used for posting, voting and also commenting and it is also used to log in to steemit app. We use this key for the social part of the steemit platform. For example it is used for logging in, for following users, resteeming post, mute, etc. so you can see it is also an important key.

TRON PRIVATE KEY

It is also used for token transfer, voting and also freezing. It is the key with the ultimate power in the Tron account

TRON PUBLIC KEY

This is the Tron address and is used in Tron transfers.

The above are the keys and their functions. Now know the keys and how important the are I decided to save them offline. I also save it in my phone email spam messages so I can quickly reach it when needed. It’s advisable to save our keys offline and online( where only you can see it). The owner keys, master password and active keys are not to be shared with anybody. Because with this keys our account can be compromised.

HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM FROM ONE USER TO ANOTHER

1. Click on wallet.
2. Select the amount of steem to be transferred.
3. Input the name of the username of the receiver
4. Then click on next.
5. Then you sign your wallet with active key to confirm the transaction.

HOW TO POWER UP

1. Click on wallet
2. Click on power up
3. Select the amount
4. Click on OK
5. Input your active key
