Achievement 2: Basic Security on Steem. 26/10/2021

Greetings my steemit family, today i will be dwelling on my achievement 2 task which will portray the depth of my understanding of the task.

Question 1: Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit?

Yes i have retrieved all my keys.

Question 2: Do you know each of these keys functions and restrictions?

Yes.

The Master key: The master key is used for account recovery and in generating every other key including the owner key. It should necessarily be used when going through account recovery.

Active key: The active key is used in situations that require alot of care like transferring of funds, power up/down transactions, converting steem dollars,voting for witnesses, updating profile details and placing market order.

Memo key: The memo key is used in the encryption and decryption of memo when transferring funds. The # sign is used inorder to encrypt a memo.

The posting key: This key is particularly to login to the steemit account, edit post, resteem,comment, vote, follow or mute other steemit accounts.

The owners key: This is the most powerful key and is meant to be used only when necessary. The reason it is known to be the most powerful key is because it can change any key of an account including the owners key. It is also used to recover a compromised account. This key is meant to be stored offline for the accounts safety.

Question 3: How do you plan to keep your master password?

I plan on keeping my master password in a safe storage like Email draft folder, flash drive, USB stick, printed copy or safe deposit box.

Question 4: Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes. The following steps are used to transfer steem;

To begin, you look top right go on profile, click on 'wallet'

Next, sign into your wallet at the top right

After this, click on the drop down icon on steem and you will find transfer

You will find steem user beneath your name fill the name on steem user 'A' then enter amount 'B'.

Just below click next

Finally click 'Ok' to confirm the transaction.

Question 5: Do you know how to power up your steem?

Yes i do.

Go to profile at the top right and click on 'wallet'

Click on steem and in the dropdown icon you will find displayed options

Further login to your wallet from the top right where you will then need to fill your login information and click on 'login'.

Next click on the dropdown option on steem and you will find powerup. Click on it.

Fill in the amount of steem then click on 'power up' botton. Give it time for the steem powerup to indicate. It is worth noting that, wait time depends on network strength.
