Thanks to @cryptokannon and the steemit greeters for the guidance as I come your way with my last achievement task. It hasn't been easy but I have taken my time since I joined to know the rules and regulations on steem. Today I want to talk about Curation and Communities.

Curation on Steemit

• How Voting and Curation Works on steemit.
  I appreciate the support I have received so far on steemit in the form of rewards. These rewards are gotten in the form of curation by people who may like you content or may dislike your cintent. That's through upvotes and downvotes.

These are basically the two types of voting on steem which is upvote and downvote.

The upvote button is the green button while downvote is the red button. This is used assist or to reward or punish users who make excellent or bad post. People who create post or content on steemit are called Authors while those who vote the posts are called Curators.

Everyone on steemit can both be a content Author and Curator though new users votes may not have an impact on the earnings of a content creator because the new user has not accumulated a lot of steem power. A post is deemed good and receives upvotes when the content is great and all the basic rules and regulations of steemit are adhere to and a post is downvoted when it is not of good quality or goes against the rules and regulations of steemit. One can only get downvotes if he plagiarises or uses images which aren't from copyrighted free website and when proper reference is not given when you copy something to add to to your post.

The amount of curators reward a person can gain from the earnings depend on the steem power of the user.
The more steem power the person has, the more rewards the person gets on voting on people's post. One's ability to influence rewards depend on the voting that one has at the time of voting.New users with less than 500 SP always vote with a 100% power. Voting 100% will reduce your power by 2%. Its recharged with 20% per day.

New users upvote and downvote with 100% voting power. Each time one reaches 500 Steem Power, a slider will appear whenever it's time to initiate any vote to decide the amount of percentage of the vote to give away to the content creator and this is between 1% to 100%. A vote set below 100% will have less influence on the rewards of the post.

Each post has 7 days to receive recognition in the dorm of votes. After 7 days, the post cannot be voted for anymore because its payout period will be due for the author to redeem into his/her wallet. Rewards is divided into 50/50 for Steem Power and SBD.

The table above explains what actually happens when someone votes five minutes after posting.

Who will you vote for Steem Witness ? and Why?

Since I registered on steemit, I have used Steemworld.org which is created by @steemchiller, this tool helps you to keep track of all your activities, history, incoming, outgoing rewards and all earnings. It has been very useful for me even though I haven't been here for a long time.

I also have use steemyy.org which was created by @justyy. Some of my friends who are newbie on steem-ghana even registered through steemyy.org. I must say that I would cast my votes for these two as steem witnesses. Those two websites have important tools that have really helped shape our involvement on steemit.

Which community will you join in Steemit, and why?

Communities are platforms within steemit where one can posts our content there or tag them for others to see our post. It is important that one reads the rules of each community before joining to avoid any worries.

Some of the communities I have joined include the following and my these are some of the reasons for joining these communities;

• Steem Ghana: I joined this community because I am a proud Ghanaian and if we have a Ghanaian community on steemit platform, I have to subscribe and meet new people, share ideas and guidance lines to help build steem.

• Newcomers' Community: This is a community for new people. There are guides and lessons there for new people to feel at home when you join and also to have access to all my achievements tasks to help my stay on steem become a success.

• SteemitCryptoAcademy: I joined this community because I wanted to have much knowledge about cryptocurrencies and how to trade these currencies.

• PromoSteem community: This community is one of the best communities where steem is being promoted. Promoting steem has been one of the things i love doing and being in the community just makes things easy for me.

• World Of Football: My love for football is something I can't hide., I joined this community to write articles about football and its related activities.

• SteemVirtualStore: Which is one of the newest communities on steem. The idea was propounded by @oppongk with support from myself and some friends. The aim to to bring steem closer to the people through advertising of product and using steem as a medium if exchange in doing trading.

I am elated to completing my achievement task. It hasn't been easy but thanks to @cryptokannon for making all the resources available for us. Also i want to thank the greeters for their hard work and constant support.
