           DIABETES

Diabetes Is a chronic disease that occurs either when the pancreas does not produce enough Insulin or when the body lack efficiency in use of insulin produced. Insulin is a hormone that regulates blood sugar. source @wikipedia

        TYPES OF DIABETES

Type 1 Diabetes

Previously known as Insulin dependent juvenile or childhood Onset is characterized by deficient insulin production and requires daily administration of insulin. Neither the cause nor the means to prevent Type1 diabetes are known to science today.

Type 2 diabetes:

Formerly called non-insulin dependent or adult-onset) results from the body's ineffective use of insulin. The majority of People with diabetes have type 2 diabetes. This type of diabetes is largely the result of excess body weight..and physical inactivity.

Symptoms may be similar to those of type 1 diabetes but are often less marked. As a result the disease may be diagonized several years after onset after compilation has already risen to.
Until recently diabetes was seen to occur mostly in adults but today it is increasing frequently in Children

Gestational Diabetes:

It is hyperglycemia with blood glucose values above normal but below those diagnostic of diabetes. It occurs during pregnancy. Women with this are seen to have risk of complications during pregnancy and at delivery. These women and possibly their children are also increased.

         SYMPTOMS OF DIABETES

Increased thirst.
Frequent urination
Extreme hunger
Injuries to skin tend to escalate and worsen due to the fact that the functions of clotting and other defense approach of antibodies and erytrocytes are altered.. It's usually in the late stages of this disease

Presence of ketone in urine. Ketones are byproduct of the catabolism of muscle and fat during glycolysis and also TCA cycle intermediates pathways.

      DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT 

Early diagnosis can be accomplished through relatively inexpensive testing of blood sugar.Treatment of diabetes involves diet and physical activity along with lowering of blood glucose and the levels of other known risks factors that damage blood vessels. Tobacco use cessation is also important to avoid complications. Interventions that are both feasible and low and middle income countries include blood glucose control.
Type1 diabetes can be treated with insulin
Type2 diabetes can be treated with oral medication, but may also require insulin

Footcare :

Patients safe care by maintaining foot hygiene, wearing appropriate footwear, Seeking professional care for ulcer.
Blood pressure control.

PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Simple lifestyle measures has been shown to be effective. To help prevent diabetes.
Achieve and maintain a healthy body weight
Eat a healthy diet avoiding sugar and saturated fat.
Avoid tobacco use-smoking increases the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

The World Health Organization( WHO) has shown a statistic math explaining diabetes menace to our Society, mortality rate due to this is really high thus

In 2014, 8.5% of adults aged 18years and older had diabetes, in 2019, diabetes was the direct cause of 1.5million deaths. In 2012 there was another 2.2million deaths due to blood glucose complications @WHO

Healthy Living is essential to a successful life.. Eat well live well..
