Achievement 6 Task by @cinnymartins|| Understanding Curation and community.
In the previous tasks, I was able to learn about different tools built in the steem Blockchain and it was exciting moment indeed. So today, I will be doing my achievement 6 which bothers on Curation and community and how the reward system works. And in demonstration of my understanding, I will be answering the following questions:
Do you understand how voting and curation works in steemit?
What happens if you vote a post after 5 minutes?
Who will you vote for the steem witness?
Which community will you join and why?
Do you understand how voting and curation works in steemit?
Curation and voting are two terms that work hand in hand. They are sometimes used interchangeably. Curation In steemit simply means voting ones post in other to add monetary value to them. The reward of every quality content on steemit is curation.
Every steemian is expected to always produce quality posts and if these and other essential criteria are meant, the user is entitled to a reward in form of curation.
Curation simply entails the art of adding monetary value to someone. You get curated in the steemit platform when you upvote another user's post or even when you get upvoted for creating quality content. You earn monetary value whenever you are being curated.
While voting in steemit is simply the act of adding value to another user's post. Vote comes in form of support to a user from another's reward pool.
Worthy of note is the fact that these rewards is dependent on the user's influence which is measured by steem power in the steemit platform.
Here's the upvote button which clicking it entails you appreciate the user's content. Every upvote as earlier said, adds monetary value to the user via his post or comment while a downvote which is the red button adds no monetary value to a post and may even to a point reduce ones monetary value and reward.
Every user's voting depends on his voting Mana which recharges by 20% everyday and once each recharge gets exhausted, you are expected to wait for a full recharge. The recharge ranges from 1%-100% and the particular percentage per time determines the reward a user can distribute.
What happens if you vote a post after 5 minutes?
The Curation reward for every quality content published in the steemit platform is 50%. This means that from the upvote a content will receive, the author gets 50% and the remaining 50% goes to the curator. Even at that, these rewards basically depends on the vote was giving after a post or comment is being published.
Users vote contents from the reward pool but the amount of reward to be drawn will be more or less depending on the time it takes to vote after a post has been published. Let me explain... If a user publishes a post, and I voted it before 5 minutes my reward will be lesser and the remaining will be in the reward pool unlike when I vote a post after 5 minutes.

Who will you vote for the steem witness?
Witnesses in steemit platform are experts nominated by the community to produce blocks in the steem Blockchain and they are being rewarded with steem power for taking up such tasky responsibility of securing the steem Blockchain and keeping it safe from hacking.
Here's a list of some witnesses
Each of the witnesses produce per block at 3 seconds interval and there are 20 witnesses with extra backups for the nominated 20. These witnesses are rewarded with steem power based on the number of blocks they produce.

@steemchiller: This witness created the steemworld.org tool and I would love him as my favourite witness for creating such a tool with exciting features that enables ease of delegation and accessing of vital informations. Again, I will vote him for his earnest contribution to the building of the Blockchain.
@justyy: I will vote him for creating a yet another resourceful tool on the street Blockchain which is steemyy.com which makes it easier for users to perform multi tasks on the steemit platform.
Which community will you join and why?
Communities in steemit habour people of like minds on the particular subject matter and every user in steemit belong to more than one community depending on his interest.
I prefer and join the following communities for the following reasons:
Newcomers community: I prefer this community because it habour newcomers in the steemit platform and provide the necessary guides on how to grow in the platform. It is a must belong for every steemian and newcomer.
Crypto Academy community: I love this community first of all because of my love for crypto trading and this community is very helpful because it educate and enlightens steemit more of crypto trading.
Steemwomenclub community: Here is another community I love and join because I am a woman and this community teaches things every woman should know and indeed enlightening as it educates every woman.
Writing and review community: I love this community because of my love for writing. It is a place for creative minds and in this community, you meet a level of exposure from people of like minds and develop your writing abilities.
Steemalive community: Here's yet another community I love and will join for being supportive and accepting educative contents.
Finally, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has made my stay in this platform a memorable one and the stay worth it.
