Security is freedom from, or resilience against potential harm (or other unwanted or precautions ) taken to keep ones steemit account secured. Security in steemit account that can lead to discontinuity.

There are various keys delegated to keep the steemit block chain system secured and safe from hackers, such keys include:

1). The active keys
2). Private owner keys
3). posting keys
4). Memo keys
5). Master password etc

FUNCTIONS OF STEEMIT SECURITY KEYS
A) THE ACTIVE KEY
Used for monetary and wallet related actions, such as transferring tokens or powering STEEM up and down.

B) PRIVATE OWNER KEY
This key is used to reset all your other keys. It is recommended to keep it offline at all times. If your account
is compromised, use this key to recover it within 30 days.

C) PRIVATE POSTING KEY
Used to log in to apps such as Steemit.com and perform social actions such as posting, commenting, and voting.

D) MEMO KEY
Used to decrypt private transfer memos.

E) MASTER PASSWORD
The seed password used to generate this document. Do not share this key. It is used to generate any key of a steemit account. It is mostly used for recovery of an account.
