Achievement 3: Steemit Content Etiquette by @cherry-bliss
Hi. I welcome you to my achievement 3 task on steemit content etiquette. I would love to appreciate @ngoeyi and @bright-obias for the assistance and support, it was really an encouragement. In my previous task, I wrote on the topic of steemit security system which guaranteed me to the next task.
What Is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism to my small knowledge is when a work is been presented in duplicated way, i.e when an author trys/copy and another author without their consent. It is actually an act of stealing. The steemit content etiquette is strictly against this act.
Types Of Plagirism
There are different types of plagiarism. I gave some of them below.
Mosaic Plagiarism: This is the kind of plagiarism that connects with the use of synonyms, changing the words so it will not look the original one. It is seen as the most common kind of plagiarism and it is usually difficult to detect.
Deliberate Plagiarism: As the name is been pronounced, it is on that is deliberately done, and it is done line by line preset by preset, i.e copying the original authors work entirely. This kind of plagiarism deserves punishment.
Self Plagiarism: This one might look offenseless, but for the fact that plagiarism is act of duplicating a content, it is also seen as plagiarism. What is it? it when you as author go back to your previous written content to copy from them without giving a reference.
How To Avoid Plagiarism.
Plagiarism is an evil act and needs to be taken care of. To abstain from plagiarism one needs to follow the following important steps.
- Making use of plagiarism tool like duplichecker, Grammarly and etc.
- Quotation marks
- Paraphrasing
- Citation
What Is Citation
Citation is simply to give reference when creating an article. see example.
