Hi steemians, this is my achievement 2 task

Basic Security on Steem

The first time I saw steem keys, I was like 'wow, why is it so long', I remember trying to change it to a shorter one until I saw the write-up that sounded like a warning based on it's repetition,the seven rules, which said, steem doesn't have your password, save your password offline, I also saw 'if you can remember it then it's not secure' so I had a rethink and left it that way. I read through the functions of the keys and came to understand what they are used for and why it is important to save it offline.
So if you are a newbie also wondering why these keys are so important and why they have to be complicated then I employ you to read through but if you're already familiar with the keys and you want to know if I really understand what the keys are for, then have a nice read.

Steem Keys

Steem Keys are keys used in steemit to perform various functions. These keys are very important , the number , mixture of alphabets(both upper and lower case) makes them unique and keeps them secure.
There are different steem Keys, they are five in number:

1. The master key
2. Owner key
3. Active key
4. Posting key
5. Memo key

The Master Key
Just like in a hierarchy, the master key is the most important key. The key should never be used unless you are trying to recover your account. It is really the master of the keys as it is used to generate every other key. If you really love your steemit account and you don't want it to be dampered with you should protect this key at all cost.

The Owner key
The owner key is another key that should be guided jealously. Just like the name implies it is meant for only the owner of the account as it can become dangerous in the hands of another because it can used to change the keys of an account.

The active key
This key controls the steemit wallet, it is used to perform some actions like transferring steem, updating profiles, powering up and down and placing market orders. It should also be safeguarded if you value your wallet.

The posting key
This is use for posting on steemit, commenting, voting, resteeming, following and muting other accounts on steemit. The posting key should be used for everyday logins as using other keys when not necessary can get the account compromised.

Memo key
This is used in encrypting or decrypting a memo when transferring funds.

When I understood the importance of these keys, that when lost it's lost I properly stored mine in a book offline.
That's all about steem keys, now, we said active keys controls steemit wallet, so what's steemit wallet all about?

Steemit wallet

There are three types of steem

1. Steem
2. Steem power
3. SBD ( steem backed dollars)

Steem
Steem can be traded with or transferred to another user's account. It can also be powered up to steem power. This can be done in some seconds.

Steem power
This can also be converted to steem(powering down) but it takes 4weeks.

SBD
The steem backed dollars can be exchanged for steem ,can also be transferred to another user's account.

How to transfer

Step 1: Click on the downdrop close to steem as shown in the picture below, select transfer

Step 2: fill in the receivers account in the space provided at 'to'(blue arrow)

Step 3 : fill in the amount of steem you want to transfer (purple arrow at picture above)
Step 4: fill the memo (red arrow at picture above)
Step5: click on next, confirm transfer and click on 'ok'.(check picture below)

How to power up

Powering up is almost the same procedure except in this case you are choosing power up after clicking on the downdrop and not transfer. Fill in all the details like in transferring and click 'power up'.
