I am happy to post my 3rd achievement it is all about content etiquette.
So let's go to the main task for this achievement

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism is the act of presenting of another person work or as your own work with or without their consent and adding it into your own work, without making reference.
It can also be said as the act of stealing or copying something that is not Yours.
For example a steemit user might copy someone's post and post it making it look like his own work this act is known as plagiarism

Types of Plagiarism
There are various types of plagiarism which i will like us to look at,I will be stating and explaining them.

1. Self Plagiarism.

2. Direct Plagiarism

3. Accidental Plagiarism

4. Mosaic Plagiarism

Explanation

  • Self Plagiarism: is the act of presenting your own work to another person without reference. This is type of plagiarism happens when one copies their own previous work and present it as a new work.

  • Direct Plagiarism: this is the act of taking from Someone work and adding it to your own work, without changing any word.
    Like wise copying someone's article or work with referencing nor changing the words there by making it look like it was your work.

  • Accidental Plagiarism: this is the act of misquoting someone's work without proper citing or paraphrasing. As the name implies, it involves picking some part of someone's work without proper quotation.

  • Mosaic Plagiarism: this an intentional way of copying someone's work. He might mention the author's name but will not cite it or make references.

How to avoid Plagiarism
There are various ways to avoid and reduce plagiarism.

  1. Make use of your own work make sure all your work are original
  2. If at all you copy's somebody's work, make references to it.
  3. Cite and paraphrase any work you copy from somebody.
  4. Make use of Plagiarism checker to be sure your work is real.
