Hi!! Steemian. Below is a brief but precise work put together to define, explain, and also, with examples, shield more light on the concept "plagiarism"
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism simply means to copy another person's ideas, text, or other creative work, and represent it as one's own, especially without permission. The etiquette content demand that any piece of work written and published should be within the concept of "proof of brain".
However, in a case where you're using another person's work, you must give credit to the author by providing the link to the original work. This is called "CITATION"
Types of plagiarism.
Now that the severity of plagiarism has been covered, it is important to outline and detail the various types of plagiarism there are; after all research suggests that students mostly plagiarise out of carelessness rather than actual intent. As we have discovered from the previous section, this in no way mitigates the after effects and consequences of being caught plagiarising. Whether it is accidental or deliberate, plagiarism is still something which should be avoided at all costs by modern students. Plagiarism is also a hugely complex issue with multiple factors involved – indeed there are also several different types of plagiarism which a student must remain fully aware of.
Citation in my own opinion means a quotation or passage from a book in its original words. A good writer should always add link sources when making use of citations in other to add value also to make it professional. Citing the sources link in one's work when citing gives the reader translucency.
furthermore, it also prevents plagiarism.
Citation help readers understand a particular paragraph is a reference to one's piece of work citing in other to give more clarification.
I have read and understood the steemit etiquette on steemit community and will do my best to embrace them.
