My name is nfor blaise and today I’ll be sharing with you all my understanding of steem security, and I hope anyone reading this write up would be able to get an understanding of basic steem security.

HAVE YOU RETRIEVED ALL YOUR KEYS?

Absolutely, I have retrieved all my keys on steemit. It is obvious that without the keys, I wouldn’t be able to perform any major task here on steemit. So I’m taking every possible measure to ensure that the keys are safe and kept in a protected area. The keys which I retrieved include;
~Master key
~Private posting key
~Private activate key
~Private owner key
~Private memo

DO YOU KNOW EACH OF THE KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESTRICTIONS?

HOW DO YOU PLAN TO KEEP YOUR MASTER KEY?

As a computer science and networks student, I totally understand what it means to keep passwords safe. I’m going to ensure that I do not take anything likely as far as it has to do with my Master key. I also plan on saving my keys both online and offline. That is, I’m going to save that in cloud, on my pc, my handset and I’m also going to print it out on a sheet of paper. Incase I lost data saved online or in soft copy, I can still use the keys which I printed out.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR STEEM TOKEN TO ANOTHER STEEM USER ACCOUNT?

Yes I do. All thanks to @saxopedia who referred me to this site, has been guiding me on how to go about every action on this site, he took out his time and explained in details to me how my wallet functions and how to properly use it to transfer steem tokens to another user. He even showed me screenshots of how it’s been done. when i am logged into my wallet, where i find the total amount of steem, there is a drop down arrow. I click on the arrow, and select transfer out of the other options. Another dialog box will appear to input the account name of the user whom i want to transfer steem to, the amount of steem and a public memo. I take next, input my active key to confirm transaction.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO POWER UP YOUR STEEM?
Absolutely, @saxopedia made me to come to an understanding that having more steem power grants me the ability to comment and even post and that powering up builds my steem power. on my wallet, where i find the total amount of steem, there is a drop down arrow, i click on it and select power up, to convert my steem into steem power. Enter the amount of steem i want to convert into steem power and click on power up
