Achievement 2-Basic Security Keys on Steem
Hi Everyone, In Achievement Post 2 I will be explaining the Steem Keys that you can find in the Wallet Section. Our Security keys players a very important keys on the Steem to protect our account from outsiders and give someone limited rights.
There are mainly 5 Keys and 1 Tron Wallet private key that you will have in the PDF which you have downloaded while creating Tron Paper Wallet.
- Posting Key
- Active Key
- Owner Key
- Memo Key
- Public Key
All these keys have different roles on the platform, let's understand one by one
Posting Key:- This helps the owner to give access to anybody to create engagement like Post, Comment such kind of thing. The posting key has very limited access the person having the posting key can only create posts and comments and they can't transfer any fund using this key.
Active Key:- This key can be used to transfer any particular tokens or exchanging them with respect to any other tokens like dex. If we lost this key then we might lose our tokens so it's better to always protect your keys.
Owner Key:- This key can be used when we need to recover our account and change other keys like Active Key, Posting Key, Master password.
Memo Key:- This is a futuristic thing that can be used to Encrypt and Decrypt private messages over the blockchain. This is not common right now however in the future it may use to chat in private on the blockchain. Let's suppose Person A wants to say something to Person B but they don't want to disclose their conversation that's where the Memo key will be used.
Public Key:- The public key is used to get the transaction details of the account and it is associated with an individual Username. Here is the website that we can use to Public key to see the transactions- https://steemscan.com/account/bitboy1
These all keys are very important so it's always better to save these keys in the PDF and different locations so that even by mistake you won't lose it also you can set up a schedule for yourself that you will change the keys every quarter or 6 months.
